Today we’d like to introduce you to Edson Segarra Cancel.
Hi Edson, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began the idea of “LiF E” in 2017, during a time of my life, when I was facing a few challenging events. I’ve always felt like I’m there for many others and when it comes to myself, I hold as much as possible and deal with any life events alone. I decided to find ways to be more vulnerable with others, instead of being afraid and holding things back. I started to journal my feelings and slowly transfer this into videos and post these publicly and engage with viewers who may share a mutual story or feelings. This has been something that has helped not only myself but also connect with others and see how much better this world can be if we decide to continue being ourselves, being strong and remembering that living in fear ends!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been such a smooth road, especially nowadays, because no matter how vulnerable and clear you may want to be, there’s also obstacles on how others may receive a message or feedback that may trigger you or self-control until you realize that this is why we’re doing because living in fear ends, no matter the life situation that we may be facing
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently work in the hospitality industry as a butler. My hospitality industry background consists of roles which take place in the front-of-house and back-of-the house with our main always being our guests. I’m
Known for my personality of well listening and caring for guests and team. I’m always proud of making those experiences unforgettable. I’m proud to also have been selected by my workplace out of thousands, as one of the Class of 2024: 30 Under 40 Top Young Latino Leaders of South Jersey.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’d say that being blessed is one of the best things when you come across good and bad luck in life and business. There’s no perfection in either one however we just have to keep as positive as we can in all situations, there’s always a bright light at the end of all situations.
