Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Elliott.
Hi Crystal , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I got pregnant in the summer of 2022, I knew my life was about to change completely. I was excited, anxious, nervous—and thinking about all the things I wanted for my future child.
(Spoiler alert: IT WAS A BOY!)
During pregnancy, I discovered I had multiple uterine fibroids, which made those nine months challenging and uncomfortable. With my background in personal training and my passion for nutrition, I leaned into nourishing my body while also stepping into my medical autonomy to make the best decisions for myself and my baby.
My cesarean birth was the most peaceful, spiritual, and terrifying moment of my life. But the instant I heard that first cry, everything shifted—HE WAS HERE, and HE WAS MINE.
Recovery was tough, but with warming techniques, broths, intentional nutrition, and the most beautiful support system a girl could dream of, I healed. I felt nourished, supported, and present as I poured love into my baby.
Then came 2024—the hardest year of my life. Postpartum depression hit me hard. My iron levels dropped to dangerous levels, I felt disconnected from myself, and the demands of motherhood consumed me. It was dark, painful, and isolating—but even in that valley, I was unknowingly collecting the wisdom and tools that would become my mission.
That mission is now The First Two—a space that supports mothers in the first two years postpartum through nutrition, mineral support, warming recovery, and functional lab work to truly understand what their bodies need. It’s about more than healing physically; it’s about empowering women with knowledge, love, and empathy to thrive in their recovery journey.
I’ve learned firsthand the power of a village, the importance of preparing for and supporting recovery, the role of food in healing, and the courage it takes to advocate for yourself in the medical space. Now, I walk alongside mothers, helping them feel seen, heard, and cared for—because we deserve that kind of love.
I am now healed, healthy, and helping others. Finding clarity. & strength.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s certainly been an eye-opening, transformative, and deeply meaningful journey. Along the way, I’ve gathered so many valuable lessons — not only to share with other women so they can grow and heal, but also for myself, my family, my home, and everyone connected to me.
What’s truly carried me through is my relationship with Jesus Christ. Anchoring myself in Him and establishing a consistent morning Bible study routine has grounded me, strengthened me, and helped me overcome more than I could have imagined.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The First Two is a maternal wellness brand devoted to supporting mothers through the most transformative season of their lives — the first two years after birth. It also acknowledges the first two individuals that are important in this journey – Mom and Baby.
We specialize in postpartum nutrition, recovery, and emotional wellness, offering education, coaching, and resources that help mothers heal from the inside out.
What truly sets us apart is our deep understanding of postpartum nutrition, a topic that’s often overlooked in both modern medicine and mainstream motherhood conversations. While much of society focuses on the baby, we focus on the mother — because her health and healing are the foundation for her family’s well-being.
Our programs, like the 12-Week Nurture the Mother Method, blend evidence-based nutritional guidance, emotional recovery practices, and partner education to help mothers regain energy, balance hormones, and reconnect with their sense of self.
I’m most proud that The First Two is changing the conversation about postpartum care — teaching what many mothers were never told, and advocating for the nourishment, rest, and support every woman deserves.
Ultimately, our mission is simple: to nurture the nurturer. Through one-on-one coaching, virtual programs, educational guides, and community spaces, we empower mothers to heal, thrive, and feel deeply seen and supported in their journey.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways to work with or support The First Two.
Mothers can join me through my 1:1 postpartum wellness programs, including the 12-Week Nurture the Mother Method, where we focus on personalized nutrition, emotional recovery, and practical tools for thriving in the early years of motherhood. I also offer virtual consultations, educational classes, and community workshops that provide both information and connection for mothers navigating this season.
For professionals and brands, I welcome collaborations that align with maternal wellness, nutrition, and advocacy — whether that’s through workshops, guest speaking, partnerships with OB/GYN offices or wellness centers, or co-created resources that support postpartum families.
For those who want to support the mission, sharing our message, attending events, or simply helping spread awareness about postpartum nutrition and maternal care makes a huge difference. Every conversation helps change the culture around how we care for mothers.
