Today we’d like to introduce you to Chardale Green.
Hi Chardale, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Char’s Cupcakery started as something simple, just me baking for family and friends because I loved seeing the joy a good dessert could bring. As a child, I was glued to the TV watching Food Network baking challenges, Ace of Cakes, and Cupcake Wars. Over time, people started asking to order from me, and what began as a hobby slowly turned into something I wanted to take seriously.
I started learning more about the business side of baking, got my cottage food license, and began buiding Char’s Cupcakery into a legitimate brand. I wanted it to feel warm, approachable, and personal like the kind of desserts that remind you of home. Baking has always been my creative outlet and my way to spread a little happiness. Every cake reminds me why I started: to make people feel good, one bite at a time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. Balancing a full-time job, graduate school, and running a business has been one of the hardest parts. Time management is an ongoing lesson, and finding space for rest or a personal life can be just as challenging as running the business itself. There have been moments where I’ve had to pause, regroup, and remind myself why I started. It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure to do everything perfectly, but I’ve learned growth takes time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Char’s Cupcakery is my creative outlet where I bring sweet ideas to life through custom cakes, cupcakes and other desserts. Each treat is made with care, and I focus on creating designs that feel personal, warm and full of personality. I want my desserts to feel like something that makes people smile and reminds them of celebration, love, and home. Whether it’s a birthday cake or a small box of cupcakes, I put thought into every detail so it feels special for the person receiving it.
Char’s Cupcakery is still in its humble beginnings, but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so far. Every order helps me grow, refine my skills, and build the brand I’ve dreamed of. I may be small, but there’s a lot of heart behind everything I create.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’d like to enouracge anyone who has a dream or passion project to start where they are even if everything isn’t perfect yet. Char’s Cupcakery is still growing, and though I’m learning along the way, I’m proud of how far I’ve come by taking those small steps forward. It’s easy to doubt yourself or feel like you’re not ready, but progress comes from trying, learning, and statying consistent. Bet on yourself and trust the process, you never know what could come from it.
