Today we’d like to introduce you to Charie Pettigrew.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Lovely Acreage Farms began as a small dream rooted in my love for nature, family, and community. I started with just a few animals and a simple goal — to create something meaningful that combined sustainable farming with genuine community connection. Over the years, that dream has grown into a thriving local farm that not only produces quality goods but also serves as a place for people to come together and feel a sense of belonging.
Our journey hasn’t been without challenges, but each step has been guided by hard work, faith, and a desire to make a difference right here in Monticello, Georgia. One of the most rewarding moments for me recently was hosting a community event where Lovely Acreage Farms provided free food, beverages, and trick-or-treat items for families. Seeing neighbors and children laughing, sharing, and enjoying what we created reminded me exactly why I started — to bring joy and nourishment to others through both the land and the love that comes from it.
Lovely Acreage Farms continues to grow, not just in size but in purpose. We’re focused on creating value-added products like our calming pet mists, expanding our reach, and keeping community at the heart of everything we do. What began as a personal dream has truly become a shared experience, and I’m so proud of how far we’ve come — and even more excited for what’s ahead.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth, but every challenge has helped shape the foundation of Lovely Acreage Farms. Starting a farm from the ground up takes a lot of dedication, especially when you’re balancing the financial side, managing livestock, and trying to build a brand that truly reflects your values. There were times when weather conditions, supply costs, and limited resources made things difficult, but I never lost sight of the bigger picture — creating something meaningful for my community.
One of the biggest struggles was gaining visibility and trust as a small, locally owned farm. Competing with larger producers while staying true to natural, hands-on practices can be tough, but the support from my community has made it worth every step. Events like our recent community gathering, where we provided food, beverages, and trick-or-treat items, reminded me that even small efforts can have a big impact.
Each obstacle taught me resilience and creativity — learning to do more with less, finding new ways to connect with people, and keeping faith in the process. Lovely Acreage Farms isn’t just a business to me; it’s a journey built on perseverance, purpose, and the belief that good things grow when you nurture them with love and patience.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Lovely Acreage Farms is a family-owned farm rooted in love, hard work, and a genuine passion for community. We specialize in creating natural, value-added products and fresh, farm-grown goods that reflect our commitment to quality and care. One of our most popular product lines is our Intoxicating My Dog Mist and Cat Mist — calming sprays made with gentle, natural ingredients designed to help pets feel relaxed and refreshed. These products were inspired by our own animals and have quickly become favorites among local pet owners who appreciate safe, farm-crafted solutions.
What truly sets Lovely Acreage Farms apart is our heart for people. We don’t just grow products — we grow connections. Whether we’re hosting community events, like our recent Halloween gathering where we provided food, beverages, and trick-or-treat items for local families, or giving back through small acts of kindness, our goal is to make everyone feel welcome and supported.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the authenticity behind Lovely Acreage Farms. Every product, every event, and every project is done with purpose. We believe in transparency, sustainability, and creating things that make life a little better — for our animals, our neighbors, and our customers.
For readers who may be discovering us for the first time, I want them to know that Lovely Acreage Farms isn’t just a farm — it’s a movement of love, community, and care. We’re building something that nourishes both body and spirit, one small step at a time.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see the farming and agricultural industry continuing to shift toward sustainability, transparency, and community connection. People are becoming much more aware of where their food and products come from, and they want to support local farms that value quality over quantity. I believe small, family-owned farms like Lovely Acreage Farms will play an even greater role in shaping that future.
There’s also a growing trend toward value-added products — turning what we grow or produce on the farm into something unique and useful, like our calming pet mists. Consumers are looking for natural, eco-friendly options they can trust, and farms that are creative and intentional about what they offer will stand out.
Technology and social media are also changing the way farms connect with the community. In the coming years, I see more farms using online platforms not just to sell products, but to educate and inspire — sharing the real stories behind their work.
At Lovely Acreage Farms, we plan to grow right alongside these trends by continuing to innovate while staying true to our roots. For us, it’s about blending tradition with progress — keeping farming personal, sustainable, and connected to the people who make it all
