Hi StonerSlim, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began my musical journey before I even realized it! I’ve had a love of music since I could remember. I had my mom’s old jukebox when I was four years old, and now here we are. I have been actively pursuing my craft 10+ years now and after a few major setbacks, StonerSlim is back to claim his rightful position of Atlanta’s Best Rapper!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth at all, but it has been a learning experience. I was run over by a car on August 20, 2020 and needless to say it has been a journey since then. Health problems, financial hiccups, and mental unease has been a big part of my journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a musical artist with rap being my specialty! I have been told that the crowd remembers me for my energy on stage and my appearance. I’m known as “The Hi Guy With The Bowtie”, that moniker came about from the way I dress when I perform. That helps me stand out as well in crowded rooms. I am most proud of all the people I met during this journey that accepted me solely from the art I create! I’ve been able to travel, get on local radio, and performed for thousands of people! It’s really a blessing!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Consistency and keeping a good attitude goes a long way in the music industry, You also have to be a sociable individual as well because networking is key! You can make it far by yourself, but by nurturing and cultivating the proper relationships, it makes the job so much easier!
