We recently had the chance to connect with Alexis Brown and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Alexis , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
When I need a reset or need to get back into alignment with Alexis, I love to escape to nature. The atmosphere helps bring me back to center, especially navigating the ebbs and flows of being a business owner.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Alexis Brown. I’m a business owner passionate about wellness and helping people become the best version of themselves. Whether I’m supporting clients through skincare transformations or building confidence in the water as a certified swim instructor with years of competitive swimming experience, I’m dedicated to inspiring and empowering others on their personal journey.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I discovered my greatest gift—the ability to hold space for others and offer a presence that makes people feel truly seen and valued. I tapped into this at a very young age when I created my business, Lexipureskin, helping others feel confident in their own skin. Years later, I continue to lean into that same gift, allowing it to guide the way I show up and serve others today.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
For me, giving up has never been an option. I see closing chapters as an invitation to rise and step onto a new path, not as an ending. When I reach a point where I feel overwhelmed or stretched to my limits, I pause and ask myself: Is this season or situation still serving me? From there, I choose my next step with intention. Letting go is never a loss when you’re releasing something that no longer supports your highest self.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie my industry tells is that stretching yourself thin—for exposure, for clients, for “opportunity”—is the only path to success. But true success isn’t born from burnout or constant busyness; it’s born from alignment. Success is staying rooted in your values, not chasing what others label as worthy. It’s refusing to shrink yourself, bend your boundaries, or dilute your strengths just to fit in.
My industry also fuels the myth that rest and achievement can’t coexist—that to succeed, you must always be grinding. But the truth is, real success comes from building a life and business that sustain you, not one that depletes you. Honoring your energy and maximizing your rest isn’t laziness—it’s leadership.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me when I’m gone is that I was a living testament to the power of the mind—that your mental state is the real engine behind your success. And I don’t mean that in a cliché or overly inspirational way. I mean it genuinely: what you feed your mind, what you believe about yourself—both consciously and subconsciously—shapes everything that follows.
Every success I’ve had began with a single thought and a single act of faith. Everything I’ve accomplished grew from an inner belief that I could do whatever I set my mind to, even when that belief felt no bigger than a seed.
