Story & Lesson Highlights with Dominique Davis of Perimeter

We recently had the chance to connect with Dominique Davis and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to tune in more deeply to myself and my intuition. To trust my vision, my instincts, and the path unfolding before me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dominique Davis the founder of Dom Davis and a marketing manager passionate about blending creativity, strategy, and community. Dom Davis is a luxury women’s fashion brand that celebrates confidence, timeless style, and individuality. Each piece is handmade with care, featuring bold stitching, distinctive cuts, and designs that stand apart from the ordinary. We’re more than a brand we’re a community that uplifts and empowers women to express themselves unapologetically.
Looking ahead, I’m focused on building deeper connections through community-centered events, introducing a line of adjustable, one-of-a-kind pieces, and expanding into accessories. My goal is to continue growing the brand awareness while staying true to the artistry, confidence, and purpose behind Dom Davis.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I think my first real memory of feeling powerful was at 19, when I opened my own storefront for my hair boutique. At the time, my mom really wanted me to go to college, but I didn’t feel it was the right path for me. I was already accomplishing so much at a young age, and I felt driven to prove that I could succeed — that I could build something meaningful without a degree.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self she’s more than enough and to trust that the answers she’s searching for are already inside her.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
I think one of the biggest lies the fashion industry tells itself is that building a brand is easy. It’s not — it takes time, money, skill, and the right people. Many believe success happens overnight or that good designs alone are enough, but in reality, it takes strategy, discipline, and authenticity to build something that truly lasts.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
I would regret not going after my dreams not giving myself the chance to see what could happen if I faced my fears and fully believed in myself.
