An Inspired Chat with Ejay The DJ of georgia

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ejay The DJ. Check out our conversation below.

Ejay The DJ, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of building resilience and consistency. Behind the scenes, I’ve had to keep showing up when there was no applause, no recognition, and sometimes no clear sign that things would work out. That invisible discipline—the late nights editing, the hours practicing, the self-belief when nobody else was watching—is what I value most. It’s the foundation that makes everything visible today possible.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Ejay The DJ — a media personality, DJ, and founder of EjayTheDJ.TV, an Atlanta-based platform blending music, culture, and conversation. My brand gives artists, entrepreneurs, and creators a stage to tell their stories through shows like Conversation with a DJ and Live From Da Tunnel. What makes it special is the authenticity — we’re not chasing trends, we’re creating real moments that connect with real people. Right now, I’m expanding the brand into a full media and marketing company with plans for a podcast network, live events, and brand partnerships that highlight community, creativity, and culture.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one I built with my own potential. For a long time, I looked for validation from others — waiting for someone to say I was ready, talented, or worthy. But once I started trusting my own vision, I realized everything I needed was already in me. That shift changed how I move through life and business. Now I see myself as someone who doesn’t wait for opportunities — I create them.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yeah, there was a time I almost gave up—when I was doing everything right, but nothing seemed to move forward. The support wasn’t there, the numbers were low, and I started wondering if all the effort was worth it. What pulled me through was remembering why I started. I realized I wasn’t just building a brand; I was building impact, consistency, and a legacy. That mindset shift turned frustration into fuel. Now, every setback reminds me that pressure is part of the process.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
An important truth I’ve learned is that you don’t need validation to be valuable. A lot of people chase recognition before putting in the work, but I believe the grind itself is the reward. If you stay consistent long enough, the results—and the respect—catch up. Most people want to be seen first. I’d rather build until they can’t look away.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m out fishing. Being near the water slows everything down—the noise, the pressure, even my own thoughts. It’s my reset button. Out there, it’s just me, the water, and the rhythm of patience. That quiet time helps me reflect, plan, and reconnect with why I do what I do. People who know me know fishing isn’t just a hobby—it’s my top priority when I need to think clearly or find balance. It keeps me grounded so I can come back to the world focused and ready to create.
