Hi Allen , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
DFA Chiropractic started from a shared vision between Dr. CJ Allen and me while we were in chiropractic school. We both came from collegiate athletic backgrounds, with CJ being a USA Track and Field Olympian and me being a decathlete and lacrosse player. We had both experienced what true high-level performance care felt like, and we wanted to bring that same level of care to everyone who wouldn’t normally have access to it.
Close to graduation, we sat down and started mapping out what that vision could look like — a clinic built on performance, precision, and genuine connection. We saw a real gap in the chiropractic world when it came to performance-based care, and we knew our combined skill, knowledge, and passion could raise the standard for what chiropractic should be.
At DFA, our goal is for every patient to feel seen, valued, and confident that they’re getting the kind of care that delivers real results, whether they’re competing at the highest level or just want to perform at their best in everyday life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road, but that is part of what has made the journey meaningful. One of our biggest challenges early on was working around 2024 being an Olympic year. CJ was still training and traveling extensively, so finding the time to plan, coordinate, and move things forward took a lot of flexibility and communication.
Even with those challenges, we stayed locked in on our vision and used that time to plan strategically and find the right office space that truly fit what we wanted DFA to represent. It was about patience and alignment, making sure every step we took matched the standard we were setting for the clinic.
