Rising Stars: Meet Ashthon Jones of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashthon Jones.

Ashthon , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out in Nashville, Tn where Im originally from, as a songwriter/singer for a local Publishing Company. After being there for a few years I was able to sharpen my craft as a new independent artist in the music industry, I went on to try out for American Idol and made it to the finals. That led to more opportunities and international performances of course
From performing with big named artist such as Beyonce, TLC, Fantasia, Ashanti etc…, to landing my place as a Grammy winning singer/songwriter. From all the experience over the course of my career, I’ve been able to write and produce my own records in my studio, start my own label, and build my own team for content and shows.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As an independent in this industry, it takes a lot of patience. Sometimes you don’t feel like your career isn’t going anywhere and then BAM, an opportunity shows up and its the most incredible feeling you’ve ever felt. That’s what keeps me going and ill never stop.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m known for creating and writing my own music and dropping new singles and music videos every year. In the beginning, I was known for being a contestant on American Idol. After some years I dropped that title and became “the one to watch.
I’m most proud of the independence I’ve built over the years. Being in control of my own creativity has been such a blessing. I’ve met so many talented people in the industry that has help me along the way.

I’m set apart because no matter how much success I’ve gained, I’ve still shown others that doing things in house saves a lot of money and builds character. We tend to throw money around and pay other people to do everything when we can learn and do the same things ourselves.
The best compliment I ever received was,
“every time she does something, she doesnt niss!” For me, that’s an accomplishment.
