Hi Gio, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Have you ever had a dream so vivid you can smell it? you can feel it? You can taste it? you can see it? you can everything but grab it?

2023 had me in that chokehold. I began esthetician school and went on a health leave from esthetician school in the span of a week. I was in a critical car accident that fractured three ligaments of my spine. Fluid was pouring through my body, and it seemed like my dreams were as crushed as my spine.

Laying in the hospital bed didn’t deter me from my goals. I knew that school was on pause, but business was still a go. So I opened my computer and I started my LLC. It didn’t take long for me to recover and I really and truly believe that it was my spirit they kept me going. That kept me healing faster.

I got cleared to go to school and I flew through school. State of Georgia requires you to sit in esthetician school for nine months. I finished my curriculum and seven that is how motivated I was. As soon as I was able to start taking clients in school, I made it an opportunity. And eventually, my clientele grew before I even graduated.

Picture yourself, a young ambitious woman walking into the mall just going to do your casual every day shopping and you see it. Your dream location is opening up a salon suite building! Immediately I booked a tour and immediately signed the lease.

Here we are over full year later, and I have worked three ATL expos. I have been on TV and there is so much more to come! I can’t thank anybody but my amazing clients!!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Now, if you read that initial summary, you already know this road has been anything but easy.

I’m a 21-year-old girl in an industry, full of mature women. Sometimes it’s hard for me to feel like I actually cut the mustard. I feel like my age has been the biggest challenge for me because one it’s hard to acquire the proper financial Support and I do feel that people kind of question me question my intention, and question my ability to work. I put up with a lot of different treatments.

Other than that, what journey has been easy? I am blessed to say that I have walked the road less traveled and am still walking.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
When I was starting out, I wish that I knew that you don’t have to have everything right away. Starting with less gives you more. When I opened my suite, I purchased everything that I thought I needed and that was a bad idea because then I had no money! Money is the most important resource that you’ll have when starting up any project and wasting it on something that’s not a necessity can be super detrimental in the future. Spend wisely, weigh all your options.
