Rising Stars: Meet Juice GQ of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juice GQ.

Hi Juice, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Of course, my name is GeRel Robinson, also known as JuiceGQ, and I’m the founder of Tycoon Sports Media Group, based in Atlanta, Georgia. My journey in sports began as a passionate athlete basketball was my life but my athletic journey ended after high school, and I never had the benefit of NIL opportunities. This experience fuels my passion for helping athletes today.

Before founding Tycoon Sports, I worked as a creative director at Cam Kirk Studios, gaining valuable insight into the music industry. I observed that artists and musicians often have large, dedicated teams, while athletes typically have minimal support. This disparity contributes to the “athletes go broke” narrative, and it inspired me to create Tycoon Sports, ensuring athletes have the comprehensive support they deserve.

At Tycoon Sports, we offer services like Trainers Corner, Game Coverage, and NIL Consultations to empower athletes. I’m also dedicated to educating athletes through events like the NIL Game Changer Workshop. These workshops are designed to equip athletes with the knowledge, tools, and connections they need to navigate the evolving landscape of collegiate sports and maximize their potential.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely, I can definitely touch on that. It’s definitely been a journey with its fair share of challenges. One of the big hurdles is that NIL is still relatively new, and a lot of athletes and even their families aren’t fully aware of how it works. That means there’s a lot of education involved, and we sometimes face skepticism or misunderstandings about the value we bring.

Another challenge is that the space is still evolving, and there are unfortunately some bad actors out there trying to take advantage of athletes who are looking for quick gains. We’ve seen situations where athletes make mistakes by jumping into deals without fully understanding the long-term implications. That’s where we come in, guiding them to make informed decisions and avoid pitfalls.

And, of course, building trust and recognition is an ongoing process. We’re not yet at the level of some of the bigger names in the industry, and that means we have to work even harder to prove our value and build those relationships.

But through all of that, we’re committed to helping athletes succeed and making sure they have a solid foundation for their future.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Tycoon Sports, we specialize in athlete brand development, focusing on creating tailored strategies that amplify each athlete’s unique strengths. What truly sets us apart is our remarkable team. We have a group of creative professionals who are dedicated to providing top-tier marketing, branding, and content creation, ensuring that our athletes receive the best support possible. We pride ourselves on building trust and delivering results that truly resonate.

What I’m most proud of is how our team collaborates to guide athletes through the complexities of the NIL landscape. We’ve seen firsthand how important it is to provide genuine, informed support, especially when navigating potential pitfalls and misconceptions in the industry.

In addition to our dedicated approach, we also empower athletes with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed, helping them avoid common mistakes and ensuring they build sustainable brands.

How do you define success?
The highest human act is to inspire. We are all in search of inspiration every day and every chance we get. So when I get a chance to inspire someone to do something or make a certain decision, that makes me happy and I feel success in that. Let’s me know I’m headed in the right direction.
