Today we’d like to introduce you to Trent Smalley.
Hi Trent , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
At T&H, our story is more than just our opening in 2019—it’s a legacy built on innovation, dedication, and family values.
Trent began working in his family’s business at just 15 years old, learning the ins and outs of rig building, pressure washing, and engine and pump mechanics. His passion for the cleaning industry and commitment to quality craftsmanship became the foundation for T&H. As a third-generation equipment mechanic, Trent carries forward a proud family tradition of excellence.
In 2019, Trent and his wife, Hayley, founded T&H Chemical and Equipment Repair, continuing their family’s legacy of delivering exceptional cleaning equipment and service through a company of their own.
By 2024, their vision expanded with the launch of T&H Junk and Waste Removal. What started as a small operation has grown to serve customers throughout the metro Atlanta area—helping homeowners, real estate agents, and local businesses reclaim their spaces and peace of mind.
Whether it’s traditional junk removal or dumpster rental services, T&H is built on trust, reliability, and lasting relationships. We’re also passionate about sustainability—recycling, donating, and repurposing items whenever possible to reduce waste and give back to the community.
At T&H, we don’t just clean and clear spaces—we help our customers start fresh.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running a small business in the junk removal industry hasn’t been easy. From earning trust and building a reputation to competing with larger companies, every step has been a learning experience.
We’ve faced challenges balancing growth, managing rising costs, and keeping up with equipment, fuel, insurance and disposal fees. There are no shortcuts—just hard work, persistence, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Through it all, we’ve learned that every challenge brings growth. Each satisfied customer and every job well done reminds us why we started—to help people reclaim their space with honest, reliable service.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Apps-
Facebook has been a tremendous resource for us! Facebook is a great resource for advertising, research and advice because it allows businesses to connect directly with their target audience or likeminded businesses or individuals. It provides insights into customer interests, local community trends, and competitors’ activities—all in one place.
By joining local groups, reading reviews, and analyzing engagement on posts, small businesses can better understand what customers want, what problems they face, and how to tailor their services to meet those needs.
For us, Facebook has been invaluable for building relationships, learning from our community, and improving our services based on genuine conversations and customer experiences.
