Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer & Scott Glover.
Hi Jennifer & Scott , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Scott Glover, a 4th generation dairy farmer, has always had a passion for cows. He grew up working alongside his grandfather, father and uncle on the family dairy farm. It was at an early age that he learned the importance of taking care of cows – “if you take care of your cows, then your cows will take care of you.”
He and his wife, Jennifer, continue providing that quality care and attention to their cows today at Glo-Crest Dairy. They started the farm in 2000 and soon built up a herd of high quality Holsteins that produce the award winning milk bottled and used in the ice cream and butter at Mountain Fresh Creamery.
Scott and Jennifer, along with their daughter, Eliza Jane, and son, Layne, are dedicated to providing a wholesome, all natural product fresh from their farm to your family.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a dairy farmer and a school teacher, we had no business experience so we were traveling down a path that we had no experience in. We just know that we wanted to stay farming in the North Georgia area and that building a creamery and bottling our own milk and making our own ice cream was a way to keep us in the dairy business in this area.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our family opened Mountain Fresh Creamery and began bottling our own milk in 2011. We bottle whole milk, low fat milk, chocolate milk, buttermilk and cream – not to mention we make our own butter and premium ice cream, too! Low temp pasteurization and non-homogenization are what set Mountain Fresh Creamery’s products apart from the rest. All of products contain no added hormones or antibiotics.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
For my husband Scott, it was growing up working alongside his Uncle and Grandfather at their dairy farms and learning how to take care of cows from them.
