Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerisa Harriott.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, to a mother who was a cosmetologist and a father who served as a police officer. I grew up a shy young girl from humble beginnings and spent most of my pre-teen through adolescent years with my father after my parents separated. He raised me as a single parent while balancing the demands of his job in law enforcement, and his tragic passing in the line of duty became a defining moment in my life.
That experience taught me resilience and independence at a young age. Despite the challenges, I remained focused on my education because I knew it would open doors to opportunity. I attended public primary school in Jamaica and earned a full scholarship to one of the island’s top high schools, then received another scholarship to attend college in Virginia and later dental school.
From the moment I entered dental school, I knew I wanted to become an orthodontist. My own transformative experience with braces as a child inspired me to help others gain the same confidence and joy through their smiles. Over the years, I worked in various practices, gaining experience and refining my vision for a space that combined compassion, community, and clinical excellence.
That vision became a beautiful reality with the opening of RenewAll Orthodontics, my boutique-style orthodontic practice in Smyrna, Georgia. It represents more than just a business; it’s the culmination of years of dedication, faith, and a deep passion for creating a space where patients feel seen, valued, and truly cared for.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to where I am today has been anything but smooth. My journey has been shaped by moments of uncertainty, unexpected detours, and personal challenges that tested my strength. One of the earliest hardships I faced was losing a parent as a teenager; an experience that shifted my world and forced me to develop emotional resilience long before I fully understood what that meant.
I also faced rejection from schools and programs I hoped to join and experienced significant financial setbacks during the development of my practice. Each of these challenges tested my faith and determination but ultimately strengthened my character.
I believe mindset is everything. It shapes how we experience life and determines how we respond to obstacles. I’ve learned to view every challenge as an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to be redirected toward something even better.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about RenewAll Orthodontics?
RenewAll Orthodontics is a boutique, patient-centered orthodontic practice located in Smyrna’s West Village. We specialize in creating confident, healthy smiles for patients of ALL ages through braces, Invisalign, and early treatment for children. Our focus is on providing exceptional care in a welcoming environment where every patient feels valued and seen.
What sets RenewAll apart is our blend of advanced digital technology and genuine compassion. We are known for taking the time to connect with our patients, understanding their goals, and designing treatment experiences that are both comfortable and transformative. The name RenewAll was inspired by the scripture “Do not conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). It reflects our belief that orthodontics is about more than straightening teeth; it is about restoring confidence and renewing the mind and spirit.
The word “All” represents inclusivity and our mission to serve people of all ages and backgrounds. Brand-wise, I am most proud that RenewAll Orthodontics has become a space that blends clinical excellence with heart. Whether it is a child’s first visit or an adult’s long-awaited transformation, we want every patient to leave renewed in both smile and spirit.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My love language is quality time, so I’m happiest when I’m spending time with my loved ones, even doing the simplest things. Whether it’s sharing a meal, laughing together, or just being present, those moments mean the most to me. I’m known to be pretty humorous among those who know me well, and I think that connects to the joy I get from seeing people smile. A genuine smile has the power to brighten anyone’s day, and that’s something that truly makes me happy. It also ties beautifully into what I do every day with my patients; helping them smile with confidence and feel good from the inside out.
