Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Pallone.
Hi Kenneth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Ken Pallone. “In 1981, at 21 years old, about a year after I awakened spiritually to Christ, I had visions of a career helping people find and experience the love of God. But, at that time was too fearful to take the formal steps in that direction. Looking back over my journey I spent much of my teens in substance addiction and later (in my 20’s) became addicted to religion. I traded one addiction for another. I spent years trying to co-pay God for the wrongs and hurts I caused in my teen years. I was riding the emotional roller coaster of trying to perform for acceptance (God’s and others). I graduated college, had a respectable career path and was married to my wife, Debbie. I was using pride and self-righteousness to cover the pain of deep-rooted shame and/or a low self-worth. Oh, the struggles and heartaches of battling a fear of both failure and success and the endless shame that fills the void in-between! Then, in my early 30′s, I was further awakened to find myself; bitter and angry at God, and myself. I hated me.
God’s mercy in the form of brokenness led me to the abandonment of self-hatred with all of its misguided ambitions. He has allowed me to see and experience the importance of letting Him love me unconditionally and accepting His total acceptance of me. That was a huge turning point in my life that birthed the desire to express my love for Him by helping others find, experience and be transformed by the amazing, unconditional love of God.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The desire for a smooth road has always been there but unfortunately, it has felt like a winding, rocky path. At age 32, I loved my job and began pursuing a Master’s Degree in Quality Assurance Engineering; however, deep within me was this strong desire to help others in some form of ministry. I abandoned my dream of a master’s degree and at the age of 35, I took an introductory class to discipleship counseling. After years of training and preparation, I left my job as a QA Manager in 1999. Here I was at the age of 39 fearfully, starting over with a lot of energy, momentum and some crazy notion from God. The adjustment from a corporate for-profit organization to a non-profit one can be overwhelming with so much to learn and apply. I worked for a discipleship counseling and training ministry in Marietta for about five years before venturing out and starting Simply Grace Holistic Counseling. Today, there are challenges of a different sort. Funding through grants can be very challenging. Our funding throughout the years has mostly come through individuals who know our hearts and the message of love and hope we offer. Other challenges such as finding clients through effective marketing can be difficult for a small staff with limited time and budget. And yet through all this, God has come through for us and as a bonus, the intrinsic work and healing God has done in (my wife and I) our personal lives is simply amazing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Simply Grace, Inc., was established in 2003 in Cumming, Georgia. About ten years ago, my wife, Debbie and I became certified in The Emotion Code (an emotional release system). We integrated this as well as The Body Code System into our counseling and coaching practice. We accomplished this through adding a practioner (Debbie) and a pastoral counselor (Ken) together serving the client in a session. The results have been amazing! Overall, our passion lies in helping clients navigate through traumas, difficult circumstances and ultimately finding their unique, authentic expression of life. This is accomplished through spiritual practices, mentoring, coaching, emotional energy release and counseling. Client services are tailored for individuals, couples, and family support as needed. Growth and lifestyle changes have resulted in moving our counseling and coaching services to 100% virtual in 2025.
Any big plans?
In January 2026, we will officially launch our Open Hearted Series Program. This program is for couples. Benefits are as follows:
– Identify and disarm trigger points that are causing disharmony in relationships.
– Restore balance and a heartfelt connection with partner.
– Identify and discharge the emotional baggage in themselves, their partner and the collective energies in between.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
When I felt stuck in guilt and shame, God allowed me to see and experience the importance of letting Him love me unconditionally and accepting His total acceptance of me. As I continue to do so… I see amazing results.
