Today we’d like to introduce you to Apostle Dr. Teresa Jordan.
Hi Apostle Dr. Teresa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a very strong interest in entertainment. Even as a little girl I danced and sang in the mirror as though I was a star. Started singing at age 3, playing piano at age 5, dancing at age 12, acting at age 13 and touring nationally at age 18. Throughout the years I’ve dibbled and dabbed in every area of entertainment including writing, producing and screen plays. Even during my time in the U.S. Navy, I was chosen to produce stage productions for some of the bases that I was stationed at so this journey in entertainment has truly been a life long venture. Once moving to the Atlanta region my passion to help others find their performing arts ministry strengths became my calling and now I spend my days working to empower others in developing and presenting their ministries to the nations.
With over forty-five years of experience in the performing arts, PR/Marketing, theater technology, vocal instruction, interpretive dance and choreography, I am known as being a versatile woman who has brought a whole new outlook to the performing arts ministry sector. My highly distinguished resume includes authorship of seven gospel stage plays with three being slated for movie production and numerous platforms geared towards artists development. I have more than proven my musical talents as a participant in the internationally renowned organization, “Up With People”, where I toured throughout the United States, and overseas to Holland, Finland, The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Paris. I have been active as the Writer, Producer, Director and Project Coordinator for Triune Ministries since 1994 and is committed to introducing this unique concept to communities nationwide.
Education: 1995 BA Christian Education and Theology, Family Bible Institute College and Seminary
2012 Doctorate of Divinity at The Kingdom of God Bible College
In 2010 doors opened for the radio ministry to manifest and the award winning PrayzeFest Gospel Hour show was birthed (winner of the 2012 Rhythm of Gospel Award for Best Internet Show of the Year and 2015 Rhythm of Gospel Award Best Promotions and PR/Marketing Team of the Year). Since then, God has opened the territory to extend to the development and management of The Prayzefest Gospel Network (The PG Network) home of WPGN Radio Atlanta & The PGN TV Network On Demand which is a 24 hour Television Network bringing great opportunities and exposure for independent gospel artists worldwide. The PGNetwork also houses PGNetwork Promotions, PGNetwork Designz, The Triune Network, Tri Satt Sounds Music Group, Triune Productions and Triune Global Publishing, The International Music Association aka T.I.M.A. and the world renowned awards show, The Prayze Factor Awards. The PG Network won the 2012 Rhythm of Gospel Award for Best Internet Media Group of the Year and has five Stellar Awards Nominations to its credits (www.thepgnetwork.org)
In May of 2012 The Prayze Factor Awards emerged and with a voting platform of over 7 million fan votes, this platform has shined a bright light on the independent gospel artist movement and has catapulted music careers for some of today’s best up and coming emerging artists. The Prayze Factor Awards presents in Atlanta annually (www.prayzefactorawards.com)
To round off the passion of assisting new up and coming artists I also founded the Prayzefest Gospel Music Association and in 2015 teamed up with some of entertainments biggest names where we revamped and re-launched what is now known as The International Music Association (T.I.M.A.) www.thepgnetwork.org/tima
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t exactly say a “smooth road” but definitely a road worth traveling. I absolutely love what I do but it is very difficult to fund the platforms that don’t have “stars” attached to them. People have to be continuously introduced to the amazing talent that is up and coming and until they are really seen and heard most people won’t support the movement financially. It’s a struggle to get tickets sold to the events, sponsorships or advertisers but for those that do support or attend they always have the same reaction… “wow, where did you find all of these amazing singers?…”
My board of directors and the artists themselves fully fund all of the activities, events, tours…etc and continue to wow audiences worldwide but we look forward to the day when those that understand and financially back entertainment entities find it in their hearts to get behind the inspired artists movement that we so wholeheartedly believe in. That will be the key to expanding these great talents/gifts to even higher heights and larger territories.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In simple terms I am a gospel promoter but my services extend to event planning, artists development, branding and PR/Marketing consulting. I am mostly known for bringing much needed exposure to up and coming inspired artists and creatives which will empower and inspire them to keep moving forward in what they believe to be their purpose and calling in life.
I am most proud of the testimonials from those that participate in the platforms that we present and that they feel genuine love and respect from my entire team. It is a great honor to pour into others and to know that they feel that we care, means everything to me.
I believe something that sets me apart from others is that I have a genuine love and respect for others and their dreams. I honestly care and without hidden agendas or ulterior motives, I truly want to help. Not saying I am the only person in the world that feels that way, but in a industry that often breeds behavior that is extremely competitive and cut throat, anyone that offers genuine love and respect is a real jewel in the music industry… gospel or otherwise.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The music and performing arts industry is continuously growing but as far as big shifts, changes, trends, etc I believe AI takes front seat.
