Exploring Life & Business with Lewis Texidor of Arcology Instrmnts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lewis Texidor.

Hi Lewis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I often say I was born in Florida but raised in Spain. My passion for music developed very early: I started on the drums, pretending to play along to “Yes” records and learning to follow my father’s bandmates jamming to a 12-bar blues in the basement.

At 14, influenced by the inspiring songwriting of Nobuo Uematsu, I was determined to learn the guitar so I could write my own songs. While living in Spain, I began playing in several local bands. Around age 16, I developed a strong interest in live sound and audio engineering. This interest led me to intern at a couple of professional studios, further honing my technical abilities alongside my songwriting craft.

Committed to making music my career, I moved from Spain to the U.S.A. to attend the Atlanta Institute of Music. I initially graduated from the Guitar Certificate program and later obtained my degree in Music and Technology. Following graduation, I jumped into gigging and touring extensively with multiple bands, playing an average of 50+ shows a year for the last decade. During this time, I also became heavily involved in music education, which remains a passion today, as I currently teach at Freedom Academy Music.

Things shifted during the 2020 pandemic. I began focusing heavily on content creation and was fortunate enough to find success within the Spanish and Latino communities, amassing over 600K+ followers across platforms with my reaction and analysis videos on music.

This brings us to the present. After three long years of design, development, and streamlining production, my business partner, Bob Jasion, and I have successfully launched Arcology Instrmnts, a boutique semi-custom electric guitar and electric bass manufacturer. In short, I wear many hats: I continue to produce full-time content for YouTube, I am the Co-founder of Arcology Instrmnts, I play in the biggest ’90s tribute band in the Southeast U.S., Rock the 90’s, and I’m gearing up to launch a new business in 2026 with my fiance.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been anything but smooth; however, I view the concept of a “smooth road” as an illusion that offers no true growth. My positive outlook is rooted in not taking anything for granted and appreciating both the good and difficult times, which have served as crucial re-calibration points. Key struggles included the daunting transition from a working musician to an entrepreneur, managing the intense exhaustion of touring for a decade, and completely pivoting my career during the 2020 pandemic when live music halted. These hurdles forced me to embrace the “many hats” philosophy, developing discipline and resilience. I carry this experience forward, knowing I will always be a student of music and, increasingly, of business, constantly seeking to learn and evolve.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Arcology Instrmnts?
Arcology Instrmnts is a boutique manufacturer specializing in semi-custom electric guitars and electric basses. Co-founded after three years of dedicated research and development, we are fundamentally driven by the belief that the highest quality instruments should be both highly personalized and accessible to the working musician.

What We Do and Specialize In

Our core offering is the semi-custom instrument. We specialize in bridging the significant gap between mass-produced, off-the-rack guitars and the often prohibitively expensive, years-long wait times associated with full custom-shop models.

We allow players to select key specifications—including premium tonewoods, pickup configurations, hardware, and unique finishes—that matter most to their sound and feel. To guarantee master-grade performance, we are proudly partnered with industry-leading brands, incorporating components like Seymour Duncan pickups, Graphtech nuts, and Ratio locking tuners. By utilizing precision, repeatable manufacturing for the core instrument structure and allowing customization for the aesthetic and tonal elements, we deliver a highly personalized instrument with faster turnaround times and exceptional value.

What Sets Arcology Instrmnts Apart

What truly separates Arcology from the competition is the Musician-Built Philosophy woven into our DNA.

This foundation means that every design decision prioritizes three things:

Ergonomic Playability: Instruments must feel like a natural extension of the player, ready for four hours on stage or deep studio sessions.

Tonal Integrity: Components are selected not for flash, but for their contribution to a versatile, road-worthy sound.

Road-Worthiness: We build instruments to withstand the rigors of travel and constant use, making them a reliable tool for professional artists.

We are not building collector pieces meant to sit in a case; we are building tools for artists that inspire them to create.

We are most proud of the unwavering commitment represented by our three-year development cycle. Launching Arcology Instrmnts was not a fast endeavor; it was a slow, meticulous process of design refinement, material sourcing, and production streamlining. This patience and commitment define our brand integrity.

We want readers to know that Arcology Instrmnts is the result of a performer’s lifelong dedication to the craft. We view every player as a partner. When you choose an Arcology instrument, you are investing in an instrument built on decades of practical knowledge, engineered for professional demands, and destined to be the foundation of your ongoing musical journey.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
The most effective approach to networking and finding mentors is to stop looking for “mentors” and start solving problems. Instead of asking for vague guidance, identify a specific challenge your business or project is facing, find someone who excels at solving it, and approach them with a highly tailored, low-friction question. This honors their time, proves you’ve done your research, and transforms networking into a series of valuable, transactional knowledge exchanges. Focusing on specific solutions is the fastest and most organic way to build a reliable network.
