Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Shropshire.
Hi Sherri, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Health and wellness has always been a passion of mine. I have always enjoyed assisting others with their health and wellness but, it wasn’t until I lost my mother at the age of 25 to Lupus and the following year, I lost my grandmother to stomach cancer as she passed away on my 26th birthday. Losing those 2 made me want to take more action and become an advocate for my community. Learning and teaching others that simple lifestyle changes could make a major difference when it comes to underlining health concerns. In 2020 I took a leap of faith and quite my job to pursue Hydro colon Therapy which helped me to learn about diseases actually starting in the colon. I later gained my certification as a Therapeutic Food and Herb Therapist which helped me to attain the knowledge on the healing properties of healthy foods and medicinal herbs.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Challenges…nothing is ever easy right. Things were going well until they weren’t, I left GA in 2022 due to a relationship going bad and me losing my place of residency. I was lost, didn’t know what direction to take and began to sink deeply into the darkest place that I had ever been in life. I struggled with my father and other family being unsupportive of my goals and aspirations which furthermore fueled my decision to leave GA. I moved to San Antonio where I continued to inspire the community around me with my juices, sea moss and wellness knowledge. I was doing well, better than I was in Ga and then boom, lost it all again. I took the time to sit and figure out what I was doing wrong and what I needed to do in order to get my life back on track. I was in San Antonio alone, no family and no support. My first thought was to go home but I figured; Why do that when I can do bad by myself here in Texas. My living situation turned into being in rooming homes, I went from 3 living situations in under a year. I could have given up but I didn’t, I changed my mindset and kept pushing forward. There is a lot to this story, too much to actually type here. At the end of it all, 3 yrs later things have finally started to get better for me and as I was considering turning my back on my wellness business completely, God continues to send his angels and messengers to remind me of what my purpose truly is, to help others heal. I needed to heal myself first.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Initially coming to Texas, I was an CDL Truck driver for a little while then I stepped back into the healthcare industry. I am currently a Xray Technician that works for a Diabetes Center here in San Antonio, my dreams and aspirations are to become and EPIC Credentialed trainer.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see myself establishing a few wellness locations starting with home first, Ga and then a few more here in Texas. My goal is to establish a facility where individuals can come and freely discuss their wellness goals and utilize healthier alternatives that will actually build and promote longevity. Education is a big part of health and wellness and many of us lack the knowledge on what needs to be done, my goal is to be the one to break the barrier.
