Hi Christopher, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’d say my journey started around 4th or 5th grade. My older brothers used to rap, so I’d often walk in on their studio sessions. One day, while I was listening in, they told me to hop on the mic. I had no idea what I was doing, but they helped me record my very first track — I still have it to this day. It was called “Chris in the 5th Grade.” That moment really sparked everything for me and set me on the path I’m on now.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but that’s what makes it a journey. Most of the struggles I’ve faced have been internal ones: believing in myself, finding the courage to chase something I couldn’t fully see yet, and having the confidence to build real relationships along the way. It’s tough, especially navigating the professional side of things without many resources. But honestly, all those challenges are what shape the product—and the person—you become in the end.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is 2Benjii — I’m a recording artist. I rap and create melodies for the soul. Music is my love and my deepest gift; it’s how I connect with people on a different level. It’s my way of expressing my interactions with the world and how I relate to it.
What sets me apart is the intention behind what I do. My art isn’t just art — it’s a reflection of purpose. I channel that same energy into the initiatives I’m part of to give back to the creative community. I don’t just want people to hear about change; I want them to be the change. I think that’s what makes me different from a lot of today’s artists, who often want listeners to only consume their pain. For me, it’s about transformation — turning struggle into movement, and music into impact.
