Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Stein.
Elizabeth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I couldn’t help myself. From a young age I was fascinated by health, healing and culture. I read magazines and books around my caretakers homes, mostly my grandmother and godmother. Anything I could get my hands on. I was drawn to healers and healing and found myself in the field. I also had a lot of health issues growing up, digestive and reproductive and when I was young, the grandmother I was closest too, nearly died of uterine cancer. I was in 5th grade at the time and I remember it was a big deal. As I read and learned I started to experiment on my body, with things like cutting out dairy and sugar to see if my digestion would get better and it did!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
haha, no! Mostly not a smooth road. There is a steep learning curve in learning to heal yourself and finding the wright people and solutions to work with especially if you are working with more complex or nuanced issues. Running your own business is also a steep learning curve, everything from money managment, better boundaries with clients, friends and family, and time managment, ect. Kind of like learning to drive a car, overwhelming a lot of the time at the start but eventually things start to flow more smoothy. Now I’m in the school of keeping myself aligned, body mind and spirit. I find when I am off, so is my practice. If I am in tune with what is going on inside of me and focused on my goals, things go much smoother.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am highly specialized in remedial body work and various therapies like massage, energy medicine, and myofacial release work. One of my favorite modalities to practice is abdominal therapy, based on Arvigo® Maya Abdominal Therapy and various other belly healing arts. It’s great for supporting and boosting fertility naturally but also helps with digestion, age related problems like prolapse and scar tissue reduction. I also love public education. One of my favorite talks to give is on the topic of women and men’s pelvic floor health and awareness. It’s a topic just now getting more attention but I’ve been creating and presenting about this topic since 2013. I’m very proud of the various presentations I’ve put together over the years and the help and support I’ve been able to provide for the many people that I have seen over the years all over the world. If I had one more thing I’m really proud of it’s my garden and taking care of the soil, and all the incredible things I can grow as a result. Gardens are like people. If you put in the right inputs such as nutrition, structure, time, and care, the output is magical and abundant and unlike anything anywhere else! It’s the best!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Spending hours in nature observing animals and plants, and spending time with my Mom’s horses at a farm with other children who also loved horses.
