Today we’d like to introduce you to Heleyna Coney.
Hi Heleyna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my creative journey years ago under the name Flawfully Glamorous, where I specialized in wig coloring and custom styling. That era was pure magic — I worked with the most vibrant clientele, especially women from the DMV who trusted me to bring their boldest, most playful looks to life. My work even reached Kat Von D, and I was credited in one of her music videos, which was such a surreal moment for me as a young artist.
After that first wave of success, I took a step back to regroup, grow, and live a little life. I explored different roles outside the beauty world, but the universe always nudged me back to creativity. So now I’m returning as Ley — evolved, expanded, and so much more intentional about the kind of work I want to create.
Today, my brand isn’t just about wigs anymore. It’s about full-spectrum curation:
• Fashion styling
• Creative direction
• Photography concepts
• Hair artistry
• Content creation
• Fitness, lifestyle, and self-care influence
I’m currently developing my own transformation series, The Leyover Experience, where I help women (and men) elevate how they look, feel, and carry themselves. My work is really about guiding people back to their highest, most magnetic version — the version they forgot they could be.
This chapter of my career is more aligned, more confident, and more intentional than I’ve ever been. I’m blending everything I’ve learned — beauty, fashion, storytelling, spiritual grounding, and lifestyle — into one creative ecosystem. And honestly, I feel like I’m just getting started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not — my journey has been anything but smooth. It’s been a full-blown roller coaster with no seatbelt, and I’ve had to rebuild myself more times than I can count. Between personal challenges, unstable environments, and the world literally shifting beneath all of us these last few years, I’ve had moments where everything fell apart at once. There were times where keeping my creativity alive felt impossible.
One of my biggest struggles was staying grounded when life felt chaotic. I went through periods of emotional exhaustion, single motherhood, financial resets, and growing pains that forced me to face myself in ways I never expected. I also had to learn how to create from a place of authenticity instead of survival — remembering who I truly am, even when everything around me felt loud and unstable.
But every dip in the road stretched me. Every setback expanded me. Every moment where I had to get up one more time built the version of me that exists today. It wasn’t beautiful, it wasn’t easy, and it definitely wasn’t linear — but it was transformative. And now, standing where I am, I can honestly say the journey has made me stronger, more intentional, and more aligned with my purpose than ever.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an artist and creative whose work lives at the intersection of beauty, storytelling, and transformation. I specialize in elevating people — whether that’s through fashion styling, hair artistry, creative direction, or the visual worlds I build as a content creator. I’m known for my eye: the way I put pieces together, the way I see people, and the way I make them look and feel like the highest version of themselves. Looking good has always been my language, and helping others look good — and feel good — is my gift.
One of the things I’m most proud of is producing my own styling series, The Leyover Experience. It’s a passion project that captures everything I love: transformation, creative curation, storytelling, and guiding others through their own glow-up journeys. It’s just one branch of what I’m building under my brand, Ley Styling Co., but it represents my commitment to creating meaningful, elevated work that truly reflects my artistry.
What sets me apart is simple: there is no one else who thinks, creates, or sees the world like I do. I have a naturally intuitive, cinematic eye. I’m not afraid to experiment, mix unlikely elements, or take risks that other people wouldn’t. I trust my vision. I can transform the most unexpected pieces into something stunning, and I bring that same energy to the people I work with. I add value everywhere I go — not just through talent, but through intention, detail, and the ability to make anyone feel iconic.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Start. That’s the biggest thing. Don’t wait to have it all figured out, and don’t trick yourself into believing you need everything to be perfect before you move. You don’t. Wing it, polish it as you go, and give yourself permission to learn in real time.
Be willing to pivot — a lot. Becoming a master pivoter is one of the greatest skills you can have. Don’t care what people think, and if something scares you or makes you nervous, that’s usually your sign to go for it.
Forget “the right time.” It doesn’t exist. Create the moment. Finesse what you can, use what you have, and trust that you will grow into everything you’re building. You will be unstoppable if you nurture yourself from within and stay mindful of how you speak to yourself. Your inner world fuels your outer world — protect it and pour into it.
