Meet Emily Klimkiewicz of Decatur

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Klimkiewicz.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve loved astrology since I was little but I never imagined it would become my career. For most of my adult life I was in New York City raising my two kids, Annabelle and William, and building a career in interior design. Astrology was just something I enjoyed and studied on the side. But when I took my first formal astrology class in 2012, something clicked. It felt like remembering a language I somehow already knew, and I was hooked!
After 23 years in NYC, I moved to Atlanta in 2016 and had to start over on every level, personally and professionally. It was really hard. That huge move pulled me even deeper into astrology. It became this powerful tool for understanding change and rebuilding from the inside out. Then 2020 and the Covid pandemic hit. Being stuck at home for months made astrology an anchor for me. It helped me make sense of the big cycles happening in the world and it gave me comfort. I wanted to share that with friends and family, so I started reading charts via Zoom. I loved it! And my friends and family loved it too and sent their friends to me. People needed connection and context and comfort, and astrology helped give all of that.
At some point I realized this wasn’t just a passion project anymore, it was the work I was meant to be doing. So I have slowly built Emily Neptune Astrology while raising my kids and working a full-time design job. Today I teach classes, work with clients around the world, and host workshops here in Atlanta. The path hasn’t been linear at all, but I’m taking it one step at a time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can’t say it’s been very smooth, but that’s part of what keeps it fun! Honestly, the hardest part has been learning to trust myself and stop worrying about what other people think. And also to trust that it’s all going to continue to work out. Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy and it is hard to ever feel secure. I have definitely dealt with a lot of doubt and a lot of stress from juggling single motherhood, financial pressure, and a calling that didn’t exactly come with a clear path forward! That said, I have learned so much along the way and every struggle has helped me grow. At this moment I am so much more grounded, more knowledgeable as a business person, and more committed to creating work that actually helps people move through real life transitions with clarity.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an astrologer, but my mission is to make astrology feel human and useful, not intimidating or fatalistic. I specialize in helping people understand their charts in a practical way. I want them to see how their life moves in cycles, how their timing works, and how they can work with their chart using their own free will. I also love reminding my clients of their own special magic and why they are here, based on their astrology.
My style blends the mystical with the real world. I’m definitely not here to scare people with predictions – what I really try to do is to help them understand their emotions, their patterns, their purpose, and the bigger themes unfolding in their lives. My readings and classes are conversational and fun. Instead of lecturing my students, I prefer to sit with them and help them decode their story in a way that feels empowering and inspiring.
What sets me apart is the way I communicate. I translate astrology into something people can actually use in daily life. It’s compassionate, it’s practical, and it’s accessible. And I think the joy I have for this work comes through in every reading and class.
What I’m most proud of is building this business from nothing while raising two kids, working full-time, and rebuilding my entire life in a new city through a divorce and a pandemic! Without a doubt, the community forming around my work has been the biggest gift. Those connections are what light me up and reaffirm that my work is important.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I would encourage people to not fear change! We are here to grow and change and create. Follow your heart and start before you think you’re ready. Keep learning, build a foundation, and trust that your voice matters even if it’s still taking shape.
Create structure in your business, especially if you have a creative brain like mine. Systems make things so much easier and give you more room to be intuitive and in flow.
Remember the saying “Perfection is the enemy of good.” It doesn’t have to be perfect to resonate with your audience. People respond to honesty and enthusiasm more than flawless presentation. Share what you love generously and let people see your passion.
And find your community! Doing this alone is a fast track to burnout. Let people support you and cheer for you. It makes the whole journey possible and much more rewarding and fun.
