Exploring Life & Business with Kesha Brown of Inspirational Impact LLC.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kesha Brown.

Hi Kesha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story begins long before I ever stepped into a classroom or published a book. It begins back in Danville, Illinois, where I was born and raised. The foundation of who I am was shaped by my family, especially my grandmother, Willie Lou, whose home became the center of my world. At the age of seven, I moved in with her and my auntie who has Down Syndrome. My aunt was the first person who taught me what patience, advocacy, and compassion truly look like.

I remember sitting with my auntie and working through her Hooked on Phonics program. I was younger than her, but in my mind, I had already certified myself as her teacher. Those moments were small yet powerful. I wanted to help her, teach her, protect her, and help her succeed. I did not have the language for it then, but that experience planted the seed that would eventually grow into my career as an educator.

I am also a mother of three incredible children (K3- Kyra, Kameron and Kamille) who have shaped every chapter of my journey. They have watched me love, teach, advocate, and even fight. In 2019 I was diagnosed with cancer, and that battle changed everything. Walking through that season while still showing up as a mother and an educator taught me resilience on a completely different level. It also taught me that purpose is not a destination. It is a calling you return to over and over again.

After that season, I wrote my first book, and between that project, my professional experience as an educator, and my passion for turning every moment into a teachable moment, my business was born.

I wanted to create work that reached beyond the walls of a single classroom or school. After spending twenty two years in education supporting students with disabilities, coaching teachers, and working on programs and projects that help with moral, school improvement and celebrations, I realized my impact was still limited to the people directly in front of me. I knew I had more to offer. I wanted parents, teachers, children, and entire communities to feel seen, supported, and inspired by my voice, my storytelling, and my experiences.

That desire to expand my reach is what gave birth to Inspirational Impact LLC, and it is the powerhouse behind what “Can I Have Your Attention” is becoming. My goal has always been to take everything I have learned and use it to create meaningful impact far beyond the walls of any one classroom or school.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a business requires a level of faith, discipline, and patience that goes far beyond the excitement of launching an idea. It is not just about starting. It is about continuing, showing up, and believing in what you are building even on the days when no one else sees it yet.

Struggles; I struggled with simply getting started. Taking the leap can feel overwhelming when the world already seems full of voices, ideas, and experts. I also struggled with staying diligent and showing up consistently, especially during seasons when growth felt slow or unclear.
Another challenge was learning to operate on timelines that were not my own. In publishing, so much of the process depends on others. For me, that was my illustrator, Marcus Williams (check him out), whose talent made every delay worth it. Working with others taught me that everyone moves at their own pace, and once I accepted that, I became more practical about planning, preparing, and communicating on my end. The experience of writing and publishing strengthened my patience in ways I did not realize I needed.
Self-Doubt: I often asked myself whether my story, my message, and my passion would resonate. I wondered if people would want to hear me speak or bring me in to train their staff or work with their children. But every challenge taught me something valuable. I learned to trust my own vision even when it was still unfolding. I learned to give myself grace in the moments when I felt stretched thin. And I learned that growth requires both courage and consistency.

I am still navigating one of my biggest challenges which is finding or creating the breakout space that will allow me to be fully seen, fully heard, fully booked, and fully recognized for the work I do and the impact I bring.

Despite every obstacle, I have not given up. I move with intention, and I create with purpose because I know I have something meaningful to offer.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Inspirational Impact LLC is a publishing, speaking, and educational consulting company created to inspire, empower, and equip. The company serves students, educators, families, schools, and communities by connecting real experience with meaningful solutions.

Our work includes ADHD awareness and advocacy, special education and MTSS support, classroom management and teacher coaching, school-wide events, parent workshops, family engagement, and children’s literature that highlights representation, curiosity, and inclusivity. We also provide professional development and trainings that are practical, relatable, and grounded in real classroom experience.

The heartbeat of the company is the work around Simone, the main character in Simone Goes to Kindergarten – I Have Questions. She represents curiosity, confidence, and the beauty of thinking differently. Inspired by my daughter and her big, brilliant mind, Simone is the spark that ignited my entire brand and continues to guide the work I do.

What I am most proud of is that everything I create starts with purpose and ends with impact. My work is rooted in authenticity. I do not create from theory. I create from lived experience.

I have raised the children.
I have taught the students.
I have coached the teachers.
I have supported the parents.
I have fought the battles that forced me to grow.

And I bring all of that to my brand.

What I want readers to know is that Inspirational Impact is more than books or workshops or trainings. It is a mission. It is a place where representation matters, where learning differences are understood, where educators feel supported, and where children see themselves reflected in stories that honor who they are.

Our offerings are designed to uplift, educate, and empower. Whether it is through a keynote, a professional development session, a parent seminar, or a children’s book, my goal is always the same: to help people feel seen, understood, and inspired to grow.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is impact! Real impact that changes how people see themselves, their children, their classrooms, and their abilities.

I want kids to feel represented.
I want parents to feel supported.
I want teachers to feel equipped.
I want women to feel inspired.
I want people living with ADHD or learning differences to feel valued instead of misunderstood.

Everything I do; books, trainings, workshops, social media, keynote speaking, events circles back to that one word: impact.
