Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Beavers.
Hi Katie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always loved travel! I went to my first theme park before I could walk and grew up going to theme parks in Florida when visiting my grandparents my entire childhood. As I got older, my parents took me out of the country for the first time when I was 13 years old. I have been drawn to the adventure and thrill of exploring new places and experiencing new cultures ever since! I continued to travel the world as a young adult, including living in Italy for a summer while teaching English and American History in a local school in Northern Italy. I have loved the experiences and perspective that my travels have given me over the years. I was a Middle School teacher for 5 years before exploring the opportunity of becoming a Travel Advisor. I began working with my agency, Travelmation, and soon found success and fulfillment in the travel industry that I am so thankful for. I have been working as a Travel Advisor for 3 years now and can not imagine doing anything else. I continue to travel the world but now I get to bring my husband and 5 children along with me!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I started building my business by word of mouth marketing a little over 3 years ago. I have built up my presence on social media, developed skills in marketing and found myself engaging in conversations in all parts of my life that have established me as a confident Travel Professional in my community. I have engaged in professional learning opportunities, travel familiarization trips, online classes and completed hours upon hours of research to help build my knowledge base. It has not been an easy road! It has taken a lot of hard work, determination and will power to succeed in this industry. I have built my business from the ground up and I am so proud of myself for the success I have found!
We’ve been impressed with Travelmation (Beavers Book Travel), but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an independent contractor who runs her own travel business under the umbrella of my host agency, Travelmation. Travelmation is a top producing travel agency that has trained successful travel advisors from all over the world. I am in the top 15% of sales earners for my agency of over 2,000 agents. I specialize in family and luxury travel to Theme Parks, The Caribbean and Cruise Line Travel. I am known for being an agent who prides herself on personal, white glove service for her clients, engages in the planning process actively and goes above and beyond to individualize the care I take for each trip I plan. I am so proud to work for Travelmation and the opportunities my agency has afforded me with to be successful in the Travel Industry. I want all of my clients (and clients considering working with me) to feel like they have a friend in their corner who is working to make their travel experience as smooth and unique as possible.
