Inspiring Conversations with Savauna Sage of Paradise Park Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Savauna Sage.

Hi Savauna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story begins with pain and purpose sitting side by side. I grew up watching my loved ones navigate cancer, heart failure, and mental illness, and even as a child I carried this quiet curiosity about how we maintain wellbeing in a world full of stress and uncertainty. When I saw two people in my family with a tracheostomy, something told me that’s not the way life should be.

When I moved to Atlanta to attend Clark Atlanta University, one of my very first courses was yoga and that shifted something in me. The instructor said, “Your posture and your breath can influence your nervous system and your digestion.” It was a simple statement, but it felt like a doorway. It was the first time I understood that I had agency — that small, intentional practices could support my long-term wellness.

My career took me into the fast-paced world of tech — working with companies like Google, Microsoft, Nike, and Amazon as a Solutions Architect and Engineer. I gained success, but behind the scenes I was dealing with womb wellness challenges, adrenal fatigue, burnout, and the emotional residue of my family’s health history. Eventually, I realized that success without wellbeing isn’t longevity — it’s just survival with a resume.

A turning point came when I reluctantly attended a wellness retreat. I expected clichés and surface-level content, but what I experienced was profound clarity, rest, and alignment. It impacted me so deeply that six months later, I hosted a retreat for 22 women from across the country. Witnessing their breakthroughs, their joy, and the way the experience supported their wellbeing made me realize I had stepped into something meaningful. Also, their messages to me, thanking me for changing their lives cause me to recognize that I had a gift that I should share.

I continued studying herbalism, integrative wellness, and nature-based practices — and I was able to not only improve my own quality of life, but to support those around me. Through this work, I developed my 12 Principles of (W)holistic Living, a framework that integrates mind, body, spirit, and emotional wellbeing. I created it because I saw so many wellness philosophies focus on only one area — diet, detox, or movement — when true transformation comes from nurturing the whole person.

This vision eventually led me to an 8-acre waterfront estate just 25 minutes outside Atlanta. The moment I walked the land, I knew it was special. That space is now Paradise Park Atlanta — a private, immersive wellness sanctuary offering retreat programs, nature-based experiences, and holistic services grounded in rest, community, and (w)holistic living.

Today, Paradise Park stands as a place where individuals, leaders, and teams can reset their lives, restore their wellbeing, and reconnect with what truly matters. And every part of my journey — even the difficult pieces — guided me to create the sanctuary I once needed myself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—beautiful, yes, but not always smooth. When I began this journey, I didn’t even know terms like wellness tourism or agritourism existed. What I did know was that corporate executives, high performers, and people like myself were quietly acknowledging a truth we rarely say out loud: to excel, wellbeing has to be the foundation. Legacy requires longevity—both lifespan and healthspan.

One of my early challenges was believing that I could be the one to build something like Paradise Park Atlanta. Transitioning from tech into the wellness space required me to use both sides of who I am—my analytical, research-driven mind, and my intuitive, deeply empathetic nature. I had already spent years supporting the wellbeing of my extended family, plus my husband of 23 years and our sons, who are now 6’7 and 6’6 collegiate-level athletes. But stepping into the public eye, talking about wellness, and bringing my vision forward on social media felt vulnerable.

Every personal breakthrough and every transformation in my family pushed me forward. And when Microsoft selected me to deliver an online wellness event for over 200 people, it was a defining moment that affirmed my voice, my system, and my approach were not only valid—they were needed.

Another major challenge was helping busy, high-achieving people understand the importance of slowing down and practicing what I call body temple awareness. Our culture glorifies hustle and normalizes burnout. But as I often say, “What good are all the bags if you’re in a box?” Encouraging leaders and changemakers to pause, breathe, and truly prioritize themselves required a new language and a new framework.

That’s where my concept of (W)holistic Success™ emerged—a blueprint that incorporates bio-harmonizing methods to realign the mind, body, emotions, and spirit. Because yes, there are seasons to grind and build, but the body is always keeping score. We must love ourselves into life and legacy, not push ourselves into depletion.

What has kept me most encouraged are the people. Seeing guests arrive at Paradise Park exhausted, overwhelmed, and drained—and watching them return to radiance, clarity, and joy—has been the greatest confirmation. When someone’s posture softens, their breath deepens, and their eyes brighten, I’m reminded that these retreats are not just experiences… they are turning points. Lifelines. Invitations back to themselves.

The road wasn’t smooth, but every challenge refined me. Every setback strengthened the vision. And ultimately, those moments shaped a sanctuary and a system designed to help people reconnect with their power, their peace, and their purpose.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Paradise Park Atlanta?

People don’t just visit us—they return to themselves. They come with bags but they don’t leave with those same bags. They leave with tools, practices, and a renewed sense of their own possibility.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe that risk is often the bridge between who we are and who we’re called to become. And yes—I’ve taken major risks. I transitioned from a successful career as a technologist, working with companies like Google, Microsoft, Nike, and Amazon, into a completely different arena: wellness, farming and peak performance. It required not only a new business model, but an entirely new mindset. I went from building systems in tech to building a gardens and therapy rooms on eight acres of land… and that shift was both exhilarating and terrifying.

The truth is, wellness from a cultural and (w)holistic perspective is still an emerging field. I was stepping into a space that required significant financial investment, deep personal growth, and a willingness to bet on my ability to create something the world hadn’t seen before. But I’ve always believed that when you bet on yourself, you never lose.

For me, the greater risk wasn’t leaving tech—it was staying comfortable. There’s a danger in letting “good” rob you of “great.” I had a stable, respected career, but I also had a calling: to create a place where people could reconnect with their bodies, their breath, their emotions, nature, and ultimately, their purpose.

And that calling was worth facing uncertainty.

What has made the risk worthwhile are the memories, the breakthroughs, and the lives transformed. Watching people come to Paradise Park overwhelmed and leave restored and radiant—that’s the kind of fulfillment you can’t quantify. I also get to share the lifestyle that has allowed me to bring wellness to my family – I now invite people to the experience of being close to nature, growing food, nourishing and nurturing yourself, understanding how to release emotional buildup, and create a legacy rooted in wellness and wholeness for my family and community.

There’s a quote I love: “To the world you may be just somebody, but to somebody, you may be the world.” If I can be that “somebody” who helps another person, family and/or team fulfill their legacy through (w)holistic living, then every risk I’ve taken has been worth it.

So yes, I take risks. But I take them with purpose, with faith, and with the understanding that nothing extraordinary is built in the comfort zone.
