Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Jenkins.
Hi Andrea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2013, I lost my mother unexpectedly. I got into grooming and it became more than a career for me, it became healing, purpose, and a way to pour love into something when I needed it most. I started grooming with nothing but passion and a belief that God had placed me on a path bigger than I could see at the time. Over the years, I worked my way up from being a self taught groomer to becoming a business owner, educator, and now a leader in Atlanta’s pet care community. I built Jazzy Pawz by Andrea from the ground up, starting as a one woman operation and growing it into a multi location brand offering enrichment grooming, self wash, suite rentals for pet care professionals, retail boutique, WIOA grooming training apprenticeship program, and now nonprofit youth enrichment through the FurEver Friends Kids Club. My journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve had seasons where I groomed six days a week just to keep the lights on. I’ve faced pressure, burnout, doubt, and the challenge of building something while still learning it.
Today, Jazzy Pawz has grown into a full pet lifestyle hub with two Atlanta locations, a thriving grooming team, a pet retail boutique , a training center, and a nonprofit designed to give kids hands on opportunities in pet care. My mission is to create spaces where people and pets feel seen, cared for, and uplifted. I want to be a leader who not only grooms dogs, but transforms lives whether it’s a pet parent, a young student discovering their calling, or a groomer finding their confidence. Every day, I’m walking in purpose: serving, teaching, creating jobs, giving back to shelters, building community, and showing others what’s possible when faith and strategy align.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I started with very limited resources and had to wear every hats; groomer, receptionist, marketer, and manager, often working six days a week just to keep things going. Expanding to two locations while still grooming was a huge challenge, especially financially and physically. Finding the right team and learning how to lead, delegate, and grow without burning out has also been a major learning curve. But every struggle pushed me to evolve, strengthen my systems, and trust God. Those challenges are what shaped Jazzy Pawz into the resilient, purpose driven brand it is today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Jazzy Pawz Pet Care Suites is more than a grooming salon, it’s a full pet lifestyle hub in Atlanta built on love, enrichment, and excellence. We specialize in cagefree, one-on-one dog grooming, enrichment based services, self wash stations, boutique pet retail, and hands on grooming apprenticeship training for aspiring groomers. We’re known for creating a calm, personalized grooming experience where dogs feel safe, cared for, and understood.
What truly sets us apart is our commitment to wellness and education. We focus on stress-free grooming, natural products, and building real relationships with pets and their parents. We also launched the FurEver Friends Kids Club and the Jazzy Pawz WIOA grooming apprenticeship to provide youth and adults with opportunities to learn grooming, animal care, entrepreneurship, and life skills — something unique in the industry. Brand-wise, I’m most proud of our heart and impact. Our spaces feel intentional, welcoming, and modern — from our curated retail to our enrichment-driven grooming approach. Everything is built with purpose: community, healing, and creating opportunities for others. I want readers to know that Jazzy Pawz isn’t just a dog grooming business. It’s a place where pets thrive, people feel supported, and the community grows. We’re building the future of pet care — one groom, one student, one family at a time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
It’s been faith, hard work, and resilience. But I do believe God has sent moments of “good luck” disguised as alignment: the right clients showing up at the right time, unexpected opportunities, and doors opening when I needed them most. The “bad luck” moments — setbacks, staffing issues, financial pressure, and things not going as planned — actually shaped me the most. They forced me to grow as a leader, tighten my systems, reinvent my business, and trust God on a deeper level. So while luck has played a part here and there, my story is really about purpose, consistency, and refusing to quit. Every blessing and every struggle has prepared me for the brand I’m building today.
