Daily Inspiration: Meet Tinashe Katiyo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tinashe Katiyo.

Hi Tinashe, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started back in high school when I was freestyling in the car with my brother. We were just messing around, but the freestyle actually sounded good, and he told me I should record something for real. That pushed me to go make my first official track, “Listerine,” which I dropped on June 17, 2022 under the name TK3AYthaone. The support I got at school was crazy. people were sharing it, playing it, and really rocking with it. That moment made me realize this wasn’t just something I did for fun, it was something I wanted to pursue properly. Since then, I’ve been writing, recording, and improving my sound while balancing life, work, and study. My journey didn’t come from an overnight blow-up; it came from that one freestyle in the car and the grind that followed, and I’ve been building on it ever since.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’m a full-time uni student while also working 4–5 days a week, so balancing study, work, and music has been a real challenge. On top of that, I’ve had to deal with the passing of my mum, which was one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through. Managing all of that at once hasn’t been easy, but it’s pushed me to stay focused, keep going, and put even more meaning into what I create.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an artist from Melbourne, Australia, and I specialize in making underground-influenced hip-hop that mixes energy, emotion and a unique melodic style. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come independently — recording, creating, promoting, and building everything from the ground up while balancing work and uni. What sets TK3AYthaone apart from others is the honesty in my sound and the way I turn real life experiences into music. I don’t try to copy trends; I take my own story, my own struggles, and my own vibe and turn that into something that feels authentic. My tone, my flow, and the way I approach beats gives my music a distinct feel, and people connect with it because it’s raw, personal, and straight from my reality.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me, collaborate with me, or support what I do through my social media, at shows, or by reaching out directly. I’m always active online and I reply to everyone who shows love or wants to connect. Whether it’s producers, artists, or supporters, my DMs are open and I’m always down to build with people who genuinely rock with my music.
