Hi Alexandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been disabled since 2015. I was rescued by the police from a domestic violence relationship & have had neurological problems in phases since then (seizures, trouble moving my body, reading, speaking, etc). I’ve tried numerous treatments & nothing helps. My doctor said since they are non epileptic seizures no medication will help me either. I applied for disability which takes a long time to get an answer & it is very hard to get. I started cleaning houses to support myself. I had always been gifted at cleaning & organizing since a young child as my family would say I organized my toys instead of playing with them. I thought it was a good choice of job because when my symptoms are bad it seems like sitting for long periods or jobs that use a lot of mental activity are harder. I could expand & have others help me also. Thats exactly what I did. I launched Clean Space Clean Mind LLC in 2021. I was nervous to try it out so my husband purchased our LLC & told me to just try. I did & was super successful right away. I got insured, background checked, & bought all my supplies. I had a client or 2 ask me to clean for them through my business when I told them I was leaving the last company I worked at. I gained clients through word of mouth, posting in groups on facebook, posting on Nextdoor, & putting a logo on my car. I personally am a holistic cleaner & only use natural products. I also use aromatherapy. If clients request regular products I will use them also. Once I got too many clients, I ended up hiring other talented cleaners to help me. I love my cleaning business & it’s allowed me to meet many amazing people. Clients & cleaners. In addition, while becoming very close to clients a few asked me to be their caregiver over the years & watch their dogs. It has allowed me to help others that need help functioning (the elderly, injured, & disabled). I know how it is & love that I can give back. I’ve become family with my clients & cleaners.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely being disabled. It was also very hard to find clients & find reliable help. You really have to put yourself out there & you can pay for clients / leads, but it is very expensive & not guaranteed. It can be hard when clients only want me too when my symptoms are bad or relying on cleaners, but I have been blessed too.

Pricing:
- $150 minimum for coming out to a job
- $0.10 per square foot for a standard clean
- $0.30 per square foot for a deep clean
- $50 an hour for hourly service
