Today we’d like to introduce you to Lysbeth Jean-Louis Ricketts.
Lysbeth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My life has been shaped by culture, faith, and a deep love for people. My passion for global learning began during my 15 years at Lycée Français de New York, where I developed a heart for language, travel, and cultural understanding. From a young age, I traveled internationally for social, educational, professional, and ministerial purposes, experiences that taught me lessons far beyond textbooks.
Although I once dreamed of becoming an international corporate lawyer, I chose to follow God’s direction instead, earning a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in International Management in Barcelona, Spain. I later became a top International Business Consultant for Melissa & Doug, working with clients around the world before stepping away to focus on family, entrepreneurship, and my true calling.
Alongside my husband, I traveled globally building schools, training educators, and serving children and communities. At heart, I have always been a teacher. Through years of homeschooling my own children, I recognized the growing struggles of parents trying to balance life and education. This led me to create programs designed to strengthen families while enriching children’s minds.
Travel, for me, has never been about destinations, but about connection. I find joy in learning from local communities, sharing in worship across cultures, tasting new foods, communicating beyond language, and discovering beauty in simple human moments. My heart beats for the unseen and the unfamiliar, believing that true growth happens when we connect deeply, humbly, and authentically.
Today, my life is devoted to helping families, children, and communities live with purpose, grace, and global awareness.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has not been without struggles. Walking an unconventional path meant learning how to let go of expectations, both my own and those placed on me by others. Choosing faith over personal ambition required deep trust, sacrifice, and the courage to walk away from security and comfort when God asked me to do so.
Transitioning from the corporate world into entrepreneurship and motherhood brought challenges that tested my strength, patience, and identity. Building businesses from the ground up, while simultaneously raising a family and serving communities, required resilience, discipline, and unwavering faith.
There were moments of uncertainty, fear, and exhaustion but those were also the moments God was shaping my character, deepening my humility, and strengthening my purpose.
But these obstacles did not break me. They refined me.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Chez Heaven & Harmony is a faith-centered, family-focused education and lifestyle brand that I created. We specialize in language learning, cultural immersion, and personal development for children, youth, and adults. Our offerings include comprehensive curricula, conversational flashcards, tutoring, translation services, and etiquette/coaching programs, all designed to help learners communicate confidently, think globally, and live gracefully.
What sets us apart is our holistic approach: we combine language acquisition with character building, cultural appreciation, and faith-based values. We don’t just teach words, we teach confidence, poise, curiosity, and purpose.
We are most proud of the impact we make on families: helping parents balance life and education while giving children meaningful learning experiences that build lifelong skills. Chez Heaven & Harmony is more than a brand; it’s a mission to empower people through language, culture, and personal growth, equipping them to thrive in a diverse, interconnected world.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Atlanta is its energy and diversity. As someone who has traveled the world and immersed myself in countless cultures, I feel at home in a city where so many backgrounds and stories converge. Atlanta offers opportunities to learn, connect, and grow, from its thriving arts scene and cultural events to the amazing communities committed to education and family. I also appreciate how it balances big-city opportunities with pockets of greenery and neighborhood charm, making it a place where my family can thrive.
The thing I struggle with most in Atlanta is the pace and the traffic, it can feel overwhelming at times. After traveling internationally and witnessing the slower, intentional rhythms of life in other parts of the world, the constant rush here can be draining. I also wish some areas felt more community-centered and walkable, like small towns where neighbors truly connect. But even with these challenges, the city’s vibrancy, diversity, and opportunities continue to inspire me every day.
