Life & Work with Jerry Gray Rouleau of North Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerry Gray Rouleau.

Jerry Gray Rouleau

Hi Jerry Gray, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story with JG Media Co. starts in a place most people wouldn’t expect.. a bar, a mechanical bull, and a TikTok video that went viral overnight. That moment, wild as it was, became the beginning of my social media presence. It’s not the chapter I’m most proud of, but it opened a door. It taught me how powerful storytelling could be, how fast authenticity spreads, and how people connect to real, unfiltered life. That experience unknowingly prepared me for the business I run today.
My TikTok grew to over half a million followers, and for a while, content creation was simply a personal outlet, a way to capture candid moments and share pieces of my world. But when my life shifted.. marriage, pregnancy, and a difficult nine months that pulled me offline, everything changed. I felt like I had lost the platform I built, but I also felt a strong pull toward something more meaningful, more stable, and more aligned with the woman I was becoming.
That’s when I stepped into my first styled shoot.
Walking into that creative environment sparked something in me. It reminded me of the girl who always captured the behind-the-scenes moments, except now, it had purpose. One shoot led to planning opportunities. Planning led to more creative direction. And before long, I realized I wasn’t just creating content anymore, I was building a service.
That’s how JG Media Co. was formed.
What started as a shift in my personal life became a business centered around storytelling, emotion, and artistry. I saw a lane in the wedding and event industry that was missing: someone dedicated solely to capturing the raw, authentic, unposed, behind-the-scenes perspective, the moments couples and vendors never get to see but always cherish afterward.
I naturally leaned into that role.
And the demand for it grew quickly.
JG Media Co. became a blend of everything I’m passionate about.. wedding & event content creation, vendor storytelling, social media management, creative direction, and planning support.
It’s a brand built to elevate the people behind the moments: the couples, the vendors, the venues, the creatives who make events come alive.
While building this business, I was also navigating one of the hardest seasons in my personal life. But pouring myself into JG Media Co. became both an escape and a calling. This year, as I found my faith again and the business grew right alongside me. Doors opened organically. Opportunities arrived at the exact moments I needed them. It felt guided, intentional, and aligned.
Today, JG Media Co. isn’t just about me, it’s about everyone I get to serve.
It’s about telling stories with heart, capturing moments people didn’t even realize they’d want, giving vendors the content they’ve never had access to, and elevating events through a perspective that’s often overlooked. It’s about transforming emotion into timeless digital memories.
My beginning might have been unconventional, and honestly a little chaotic, but it brought me here. Every chapter, even the unexpected ones, shaped the businesswoman, the creator, and the storyteller I am today.
And now, JG Media Co. continues to grow into something bigger than I ever imagined.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building JG Media Co. has come with its share of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles was starting a business while reinventing my brand completely. My early social media growth came from a very different lifestyle, so shifting into the wedding and event industry meant rebuilding trust, repositioning myself, and essentially starting over with new audiences and new expectations. I also launched JG Media Co. during a tough personal season.. navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and major life changes, all while trying to establish systems, pricing, contracts, workflow, and credibility in a competitive market. There’s no handbook for becoming an entrepreneur overnight, and much of my journey involved learning through trial and error.
Entering the wedding industry as a newer vendor also required persistence. It takes time to form connections, earn referrals, and prove the value of a service that many couples and vendors are only just now understanding. Educating people on what a content creator does, why it matters, and how it improves their experience has been a challenge, but one that ultimately helped me refine my niche.
These obstacles shaped JG Media Co. into a stronger, more intentional business. They pushed me to grow quickly, operate confidently, and build a brand rooted in professionalism, creativity, and clarity.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m the owner and creator behind JG Media Co., a wedding and event content creation business specializing in capturing the raw, candid, behind-the-scenes perspective that couples and vendors rarely get to see, but always cherish. My work blends artistry, emotion, and storytelling, focusing on the moments that often happen outside of the camera’s spotlight. I specialize in real-time content capture, meaning I document the wedding day from a fly-on-the-wall perspective: the nervous laughter before the ceremony, the quiet touches, the vendor teamwork, the details being styled, the moments couples miss while they’re busy living them. Instead of posed shots or traditional videography, my work is about authenticity and feeling. I deliver high-quality iPhone photo and video content within 24 hours for couples (48 for edits), vendors, and venues to use across social media and their personal albums.
One of the things that sets me apart is that I serve both couples and vendors, which is still rare in this industry. Most content creators focus solely on the bride and groom, but I saw a major gap, vendors deserve coverage, too. Florists, planners, HMUAs, photographers, caterers, venues… their artistry often goes undocumented, and I wanted to change that. That’s why JG Media Co. offers dedicated Vendor Content Packages, which have become one of my proudest signature offerings.
I’m also known for my creative direction, my ability to anticipate moments before they happen, and my background in social media, which helps me craft footage that performs well online while still feeling personal and emotionally grounded.
What I’m most proud of is the experience I give my clients. My approach is relaxed, warm, and deeply intentional. I’m not just recording.. I’m observing, connecting, and creating a safe, comfortable environment where people can be themselves. That’s when the best moments happen.
JG Media Co. has grown quickly, and I’m honored that my work has become part of so many important days. What sets my brand apart is simple:
I don’t just capture a wedding. I capture the story within it.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t defined by numbers, followers, or how busy my calendar is. I define success by impact, alignment, and purpose. Success means building something that feels true to who I am, a business that reflects my creativity, my values, and the way I want to serve others. With JG Media Co., success looks like giving couples and vendors memories they didn’t even realize they were missing, and creating work that makes people feel something. Success is also measured by longevity and sustainability. It’s being able to provide for my family, use my gifts to support others, and grow a business that stands on integrity, consistency, and heart. On a personal level, success is seeing how far I’ve come from where I started, especially knowing the obstacles I’ve had to push through. It’s being able to look at my work, my family, and my life and feel proud of the woman I’m becoming. And ultimately, success is alignment, doing what God has called me to do, stewarding my talents well, and walking through the doors He continues to open. If my work leaves people feeling seen, remembered, and cared for, and if it allows me to create a better future for my family, then that’s success to me.
