Alexis Williams MBA shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Alexis , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I am probably the most dependable and chaotic employee. I would absolutely hire me and keep a complete stock of aspirin and coconut water nearby. In entrepreneurship, you truly become your own boss but more importantly your best employee. Learning how to systemize my strengths and accommodate my weaknesses helped me create an environment where I could be my best self to each client and endeavor. Idk who is going to handle write-ups tho.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey friends, it’s Alexis. Life has been moving in the most unexpected but beautifully aligned ways lately, and I’m excited to share where the journey has taken me. I recently reached a major milestone by becoming a Clinical Trichologist through the U.S. Trichology Institute—something that’s deepened my love for healthy hair, restoration, and the confidence we gain from truly caring for ourselves.
On the academic side of life, I’ve settled into my role as a marketing professor at Chattahoochee Technical College. What started as “let’s see where this goes” has grown into a full circle moment—creating programs, clubs, and projects that help students explore entrepreneurship and actually build something real. Watching them discover their voice and their vision has become one of the most rewarding chapters of my story so far.
But the biggest shift? I’m learning to slow down. To move with intention and grace. My days are filled with slow mornings, small rituals, and unapologetic daily pampering. I’ve started traveling not for work, but for rest and adventure—choosing destinations that refill me instead of drain me.
Life is genuinely good right now. I’m leaning into softness, growth, and the kind of peace I used to think was out of reach. The goal from here is simple: keep becoming better, keep becoming more myself, and keep enjoying every moment of this beautifully unfolding life.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Honestly, sometimes I feel like my teenage self is still driving the car lol. I was so determined and singularly focused on accomplishing my goals. My energy was very protective and selective over my space, time, and energy, while being ready for any adventure. I somewhat lived for the thrill. As I’ve grown, physically & spiritually I realize that I will not need so much of this ambitious and overly focused energy moving forward in life. I am actively learning to shift my energy in to a more feminine and gentle space, accepting that I have accomplished quite a lot and now it’s my role to sustain and evolve. I find myself honoring stillness and patience to allow things to manifest more than forcing the pieces together because this has to work. the effects this is having over my life confirm I am on the right path, at the right pace.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
MUSIC. I grew up in a very musically gifted family. We each have a unique relationship with music and it has defined many moments in my life. During my saddest moments, music has helped identify my emotions and the frequency has helped process them physically and emotionally. While developing my taste in music, I’ve noticed a pattern of enjoying affirming music no matter the genre or artist. The power of the words infuses me with confidence that I can be, do, or feel anything I choose. I feel my inner child heal every time I am at a concert or dj set that allows me to reconnect with the memories the music provided a soundtrack for. All of the layers of the music tune in, and we bask in the fullness of it.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
We gotta learn to listen to the body. If I don’t feel aligned with the external then I tend to detach. Not every sensation requires a response. Although the opportunity is there or the influence is influencing, it doesn’t automatically require me to act on it. One of my mantras in my life is: I will not miss MY blessing. I will miss thousands of opportunities and blessings, as they are abundant in my life, but what is aligned with me CANNOT miss me. So there’s no amount of preparation I can do, or searching and forcing required to be worthy of MY BLESSING. And every thing that happens leading to that blessing is the work which is however way will guide me to mine. Especially my mistakes. So being present and aware of what is being communicated with the body and spirit help me confirm whether this’ll be a fad or a foundational shift.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes. It my role to complete the task assigned. If I never receive external validation, it would not change the my obligations to myself.
