Today we’d like to introduce you to Virginia Fulton.
Hi Virginia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It’s interesting when I think how I got started helping people using intuitive guidance. It isn’t something I went to school for or took courses in, nor did I read books to learn how to become an intuitive consultant or energy worker. What I do can be summed up in one way – it is who I am. It became apparent when I was 8 years old in Toronto, Canada. I was able to know things to help myself and others and would often tell my family of events or people before it was common knowledge. I remember telling my mother that I was a teacher and needed to be one. At the time the only teachers I knew were ones who taught in my primary school and I knew in my heart that I was not destined for that profession. When I was a teen, my mother took me to a psychic and it fascinated me that a person could zone in on my life path. It was then that I realized I was doing the same thing, just not in the same way. I embraced the “woo-woo” but did not want to exhibit the typical mystical characteristics, nor did I ever want to be someone who put on a ‘show’ to impress people with a gift that I held so dear. It was not for me to convince anyone of my abilities, nor have people try to test me to see if I was a charlatan. As I became an adult, I knew I wanted to help people overcome obstacles, so that they could find an easier and more joyful way of living with a mind, body, soul connection.
While I was in college, there was a pull in me to learn how to do therapeutic massage but I didn’t know why. Trusting that there would be a reason for it, I took classes and learned their proper techniques. I quickly realized that my hands wanted to change the style of what I’d learned, so I trusted what I knew to be right and modified my methods. Clients were always shocked that I could zone in on an area that was troubling them without my having any prior knowledge. So, by day I was a leading sales representative at a large company, and by night I would travel to clients’ homes to help heal their bodies. I loved my night job so much and it grew just through word of mouth. I became fascinated that my intuitive knowing could also help the body.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When my husband and children moved to the United States in 1996 for his career, I gave up my corporate profession and focused on being a full-time mom. In 2009, we received our green cards. In reflection, it worked out the way it was supposed to be in that I was to focus on knowing that there was more for me to do. During that time, I practiced my gifts on friends and it filled me with such joy. By sharing my who I am with them, it opened opportunities for me to formulate a way to make a living.
In 2015, I was separated, living in Georgia and my last son was almost off to college. I needed to make a living to support myself and knew that conventional job would have been the easiest way to get an income. However, everything in me told me to follow my path of helping others. Many would try to encourage me to get a “real” job. I must confess, it did deflate me for a time but I knew in my gut this was my calling. I could help people with their own journey through life in a unique and unconventional way.
I always believe in the power of Source, or God, and trust the messages I receive are from the highest and purest form and this path would be one that would have its judgements and criticisms. We are often asked what we do for a living. The expected answer is a profession such as accountant, doctor, or lawyer for example. When I am asked about my profession, my reply is always received with an initial pause and clarification would be required. What I do is WHO I am. I wrestled with others telling me to get certification or some other credential to verify that I was qualified. I knew what I did was straight from Source and that it was in the purest form for me to deliver. Had I listened to these directions and taken some courses, I may have been led to use the techniques of the institution. I now know that my education comes from listening and understanding the messages and methods from Source that I interpret for each client’s session. I realized I had to figure out a title for what I do and came to know that I am an “Intuitive Consultant and Energy Worker”. It’s like a spiritual life coach. As with all sole proprietor businesses, it started small. I started telling people about how I could help their mind and body feel better. It was initially just through word of mouth that clients came. Then I set up a website, social media, and a Google site. As my client base grew, I noticed that I was changing my methods and everything was done through the power of source. I allowed myself to take their guidance and started building the business to incorporate remote sessions, in-person classes and speaking engagements. I also know that I am nowhere near done.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I stand apart from others because my energy makes people feel at ease and willing to follow the guidance I give. I am not the typical intuitive. I come from an authentic place in my soul where my goal is not to “amaze” so much as make people feel better. I have a source of energy I call my “energy goddess” where I get jolts of energy when I am interpreting the messages correctly. This makes me quite chilled so you will always see me overdressed and with a blanket during a session. My approach is similar to a therapist’s approach, in that they engage talk with you. The difference is that once my client starts talking, I feel sources guidance and sometimes talk most of the session time. I trust that Source will always give my clients what they need to know best at that time. I love that I have clients who I see on a regular basis, where I can witness their successes when they align their energy in the correct way for them. We are souls borrowing the bodies we are in. When the soul is happy, the body follows. I take a no-nonsense approach because I trust that the guidance is not me. When I am doing energy work, I am led to the areas that need to be corrected. Sometimes it is soul healing, other times it is the body that needs healing. I am most proud of being able to make a living doing what I love. It gives me joy, and I believe this is what we all aspire to have.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe my success comes from the integrity of who I am. I have a large capacity for empathy and compassion in my work, and the in the way I live my life. I have a keen sense of knowing what is right, and I use this to strength to help me obtain the best outcomes in any situation.
