Check Out Jordan Cunnings’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Cunnings.

Hi Jordan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Surprisingly, I began my work in interior design while in the nonprofit world. I worked for a residential program in northeast Georgia helping children and families that was located on a large campus. After working there 15 years, I began with simple things like picking paint colors and over the next 2-3 years I worked on multiple remodeling and new building projects. I was privileged to work alongside other designers and professionals in my time there. Savannah Bailey was one of those designers. She later hired me to work for her as an In-house Designer at Martin Furniture in Gainesville and Consign & Design Interiors in Flowery Branch.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not necessarily been a smooth road, but it has been fun and challenging and full of humility and lots of opportunities to grow!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I get to help people transform their spaces, mostly homes, but also sometimes offices or work spaces. My goal is to really understand my clients needs so that they can love their home, not just because it’s beautiful but because it functions the way they need it to! I love designing for families, with gatherings in mind, where memories and love will be shared. That gives me the most satisfaction! It’s very important to me to incorporate family heirlooms and meaningful pieces and not start over with a clean slate of all new items. I want my clients to instantly feel at home in a space that’s collected and comfortable.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the diversity of people, food and art! Shopping local and exploring small towns is my favorite!
My least favorite part is the traffic 🤣
