Inspiring Conversations with Aneatrice Wornum of Truly Travl’d

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aneatrice Wornum.

Hi Aneatrice, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Back in 2022 I lost my corporate job in a very unexpected way. Instead of sulking, I planned a solo trip to visit Europe for the first time, which changed my life forever. I immediately fell in love with the culture, the pace of life, the stunning architecture and the art of discovering. The following year, being the resident Europe expert, I planned a trip for my girlfriends and I to see Beyonce in London. This wasn’t the first trip I planned for my friends. In a way, I had always been the travel curator – choosing the perfect hotels, picking that chic restaurant with a killer view and bomb food, mapping out the logistics. I love romanticizing travel and making every moment feel really intentional. My travel planning skills were really validated by my friend’s aunt, a London native, after she got a peak at my Canva itinerary and said, “Wow, this is a really good plan. Whoever put this together should be doing this for people”. That stuck with me and few months later I opened my business. Now, I’ve helped so many travelers explore the world with depth, beauty, and a sense of ease—and it’s the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has been anything but smooth. Building out my clientele was the first challenge. Then once I started getting referrals and bringing in repeat clients, juggling all the hats of entrepreneurship, while performing the service became overwhelming at times. Since I am often planning bucket list trips, honeymoons and birthday celebrations, there can be a lot of pressure for everything to be perfect which can be challenging in itself. I’ll be honest and say I have had to take breaks from my business due to burnout from doing all the things by myself. But those breaks, brought me clarity and allowed me to refine my offers and the things I said “yes'” to so I could evolve—both as a planner and as a founder—and create offers that serve my clients without draining me in the process.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Truly Travl’d?
We like to think of ourselves as a boutique luxury travel planning agency. We’re most known for multi-stop European vacations, but we also plan trips in the USA, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Unlike a traditional travel agency, we don’t sell generic packages. We build every trip uniquely from scratch so that every client gets a trip that is truly one-of-a-kind. This means curated hotel picks, immersive tours with expert guides, authentic restaurants that are not TikTok famous and hidden gems our clients can discover during their downtime (because we never like an overpacked itinerary). On top of that we are providing extras like packing lists, destination cheat sheets, Google Maps created in conjunction with locals and luxury travel perks with things like complimentary room upgrades and resort credits.

I am proud that I am building a brand that is really resonating with the younger generations. Living in the age of the internet, a lot of people think of using a travel agency as old school, but in reality most of my clients are Millennials and Gen Z.

I think a lot of my clients really just want to show up on their vacation and have a good time without the stress. Trip planning can be so much work and it’s so easy to fall down internet rabbit holes of “best things to do in XYZ destination”. As busy professionals, they don’t have time for that. They come to us to narrow the decisions for them. They know they are trusting someone with an eye for style and discovery, so their trips feel authentic, elevated, and uniquely theirs.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite memories are spending time at the beach with my family. Growing up in New England and exploring beach towns during the summer is probably why I have such a high affinity for places like the South of France, Portugal and Italy. Walking through streets lined with historic buildings, dining at small local restaurants and listening to the sound of the ocean crashing onshore always feels like home.
