Meet DeMarco 275 of Austell

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeMarco 275.

Hi DeMarco, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Dayton , Ohio, and attended and graduated from Grambling State University in Louisiana. After college I signed to a label called Tall Entertainment and toured the country and performed as a rap artist with my group 275. After multiple albums and mixtapes, I moved to Atlanta in 2013. I started a podcast/tv show in 2016 called Bars & Beyond with my co-host Courtney Lavette and executive producer Sylvester Darnell. Then I started a trucking company in 2021 called Cargo Xpress and have been in the business every since. I returned to my roots, music, my therapy in 2022 with an album called “Nostalgia in Designer”. Every since I have continued to build my catalog. This year I dropped “Toxic Traits”, ‘Let Us Prey” and multiple singles. I am finishing up an album called “Trap in the Louvre” coming soon, and a reunion album with my partner Snipes from 275 coming next year also.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road, we signed a distribution deal in 05′ as kids but could not capitalize as the album came out but we couldn’t promote. I started a solo career, had local, regional success but the streets railroaded the next level. I then moved here, struggled to re-establish myself until turning the corner around 2017. I lost my father in 2024, then one of my best friends this year and music as been my therapy to cope. Dealing with mental health issues in my family as made me appreciate things more as I grow older.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an artist, I have prided myself with the ability to be versatile. I can make a hit pop song, trap song, hip-hop/underground song. I have been immensely cultured studying and being mentored by legendary artists and just being a student of the game. The best part is it is all genuine. I’m truly a child and product of hip-hop to the core, I have been in the streets and experienced the depths of the game, and I’ve always gravitated to R&B and soul and enjoy making woman friendly music for the clubs.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My Mom and Pops (RIP) they were supportive from day one. Although they would have rather me went into a career path after college I chose to pursue my dream, and they were there every step of the way. My big bro G-Dub (RIP) him and Tall Man had the confidence to invest in me and Snipes to put us in position to chase our goals musically, and I capitalized. Trucking was all me lol figured it all out but shout out to the solid drivers that I have had that are the heartbeat of the operation.
