Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Blount.
Hi Diamond , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My Story / How I Started & How I Got Here
My journey in the beauty industry started long before I ever picked up a makeup brush professionally. I’ve always been a creative, and doing hair and makeup came naturally to me, even as a young girl. I learned to do hair because in school as a music artist I wasn’t always fortunate enough to get my hair done for shows but when I did I felt so confident and new. I wanted to make others feel the same way . It wasn’t until 2016, after graduating from the Aveda Institute, that I officially stepped into my calling as a hairstylist and makeup artist professionally.
I started small taking clients wherever I could, often traveling, often working with limited resources, but always giving 100%. What kept me going was the way women lit up when they saw themselves. I realized early on that my gift wasn’t just about beauty; it was about confidence, restoration, and connection.
Over the years, I invested in my growth:
• Earned my Associate and Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration (Cum Laude)
• Built my clientele from scratch
• Established PiinkDiamondz Beauty Lounge, my brand and home for all things beauty, faith, and empowerment.
• Learned the business side the hard way through trial, error, and a lot of faith
• Expanded into education, hosting classes and empowerment events
But my story isn’t just about business growth it’s about spiritual growth. I went from simply styling hair to realizing I was called to pour, uplift, and build women. That’s where everything shifted. My faith became the foundation of my business, my creativity, and the way I show up in the world.
Today, I’m not just a celebrity hair stylist/Mua, I’m a mother, pastor, entrepreneur, mentor, speaker, and advocate. I host conferences, gatherings, Bible studies, women’s empowerment events, and I continue to expand the PiinkDiamondz brand with purpose at the center. Every room I enter now is about impact, not just income.
The journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been purposeful. And I’ve learned that when you surrender your gift back to God, He multiplies it. Everything I am today is because I trusted Him with the vision even in seasons where I couldn’t see the full picture.
And the beautiful part?
I’m still becoming.
This is only the beginning.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not but it’s been worth it.
My journey has been anything but smooth. Every part of my story has been built on faith, perseverance, and learning to trust God in the unfamiliar. There were seasons where the gift was strong, but the resources were low. Times where the vision was clear, but the support wasn’t. Moments where I had to choose between giving up… or growing.
Some of the struggles along the way included:
• Navigating slow seasons and inconsistency
In the beauty industry, especially starting out, business can fluctuate. There were days I questioned if I made the right decision, days I was doing hair with barely enough to cover booth rent, and days where I had to push myself even when I was emotionally drained.
• Growing without a blueprint
Nothing about my journey was handed to me. I didn’t come from a background where entrepreneurship was modeled, so I learned by trial and error. From marketing, to pricing, to finances, to branding I had to figure it out step by step.
• Overcoming internal pressures
There were seasons I battled with feeling overlooked, underqualified, or not enough. Seasons where my confidence was tested and my capacity was stretched. But those same seasons built my resilience, discipline, and identity.
• Building a business as a young mother
Becoming a first-time mom shifted my entire world. Balancing clients, responsibilities, exhaustion, and still trying to show up creatively was one of my biggest challenges. I had to learn grace, patience, and capacity not just for my son, but for myself.
• Ministry and entrepreneurship colliding
Stepping into my pastoral calling while running a beauty business has been beautiful but also stretching. Balancing pouring into others while still showing up in my career required me to learn boundaries, rest, and alignment so I wouldn’t burn out.
Despite every challenge, those difficult seasons became the foundation of who I am today. They taught me how to pray, pivot, and persevere. They stretched my faith, sharpened my vision, and turned me from a stylist into a leader, a mentor, and a voice for other women navigating purpose.
My road hasn’t been smooth but it’s been purposeful, and I wouldn’t trade the journey.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The Qualities Most Important to My Success
The qualities that have shaped my success the most are Consistency, Faith, Obedience, and Humility each one carrying a different weight but working together to ground me, guide me, and grow me.
Consistency has kept me steady.
It’s the discipline to show up on the hard days, the slow days, and the unseen days. Consistency built my reputation, strengthened my skill, and established the trust that my clients and community have in me today.
Faith has been the anchor of my entire journey.
Nothing I’ve built came from what I had it came from what I believed. My faith allowed me to step into rooms before I felt ready, pursue visions bigger than my resources, and trust God even when the process stretched me.
Obedience has been the key that unlocked every new season.
Saying yes to God even when the instructions were uncomfortable or unfamiliar positioned me for opportunities, connections, and assignments that I couldn’t have accessed on my own. Obedience is the foundation of my purpose-driven work.
And Humility keeps me grounded.
It reminds me that the gift isn’t mine it’s God’s.
Humility allows me to remain teachable, approachable, and aligned. It helps me serve with excellence, lead with grace, and stay connected to the people I’m called to impact. Humility keeps my heart pure as God expands my platform.
Together, Consistency, Faith, Obedience, and Humility have shaped not just my success, but my character. They are the pillars that allow me to grow, evolve, and walk confidently in my calling while remaining grounded in purpose.
