Mukee Murtaza Kabani of Snellville on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Mukee Murtaza Kabani and have shared our conversation below.

Mukee Murtaza, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Thank you so much, Vogue ATL, for reaching out; I truly feel humbled. Each morning, I leave my house around 6:30 am to arrive at my 8 am job, my commute typically takes about an hour and a half, which can be quite exhausting. Despite the long travel, I practice certain morning rituals to maintain a positive mindset and high energy levels.

My day begins with remembering God’s name to set a spiritual tone. I listen to scriptures and inspirational messages, which help center my thoughts. I then make specific intentions for the day, praying for my family’s health and happiness, my personal growth, and the well-being of my friends and all my loved ones. Additionally, I repeat affirmations to reinforce my confidence and focus, while listening to uplifting music that energizes me.

To further elevate my spirit, I sing along loudly to my favorite songs, sometimes dancing in my car to boost my mood. At traffic signals, I try to exchange smiles and wave at other drivers, spreading positivity. I believe that the energy I project into the world—whether through my actions or attitude—inevitably comes back to me, so I aim to emit good vibes consistently.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a small-town girl with big dreams, born in the breathtaking Hunza Valley in the northern area of Pakistan. I grew up in Karachi to pursue better education and opportunities.

Thanks to my wonderful dad, I’ve traveled quite a bit! Every birthday and holiday was filled with special adventures—road trips to museums, historical sites, and stunning beaches. He sparked my love for exploring new places, and I truly cherish those memories. Because of him, I feel confident traveling both solo and with friends, and so far, I’ve had the chance to visit 3 continents, 13 countries, and 32 cities!

On the professional front, I’ve always been passionate about my work and giving back to the community. From a young age, I dove into the corporate world while balancing my studies and volunteering for various causes.

What you seek is seeking you – Rumi

I hold this quote close as my guiding light. By the grace of God, I am deeply grateful for every blessing in my life.

Working with seriously ill patients is both challenging and incredibly rewarding. My day begins at 6:30 am and ends at 6:30 pm. Caring for my patients brings me a deep sense of fulfillment. When I’m not working, I love spending quality time with my newborn baby girl, Skye Mille (my adorable dog), my mom, and my husband. These days, I’m fully dedicated to my precious girl.

In addition, I keep myself busy as an influencer and podcaster. My podcast, @greatbigenergy, available on Instagram and YouTube, encourages deep and meaningful conversations about life.

Plus, I run a blog, @hunzagirl, where I share my passions for travel, fashion, and the beauty of slow living

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
It is a great question. Every day I’m learning something new that makes me feel powerful. However, some recent life incidents taught me bigger lessons such as how people treat you it’s about them it’s not about you. They are insecure and less aware of themselves. If they are not respecting you it’s not your fault. It’s their fault.

Very recently, I stood for myself and made some decisions that made people uncomfortable.
However, it took me a while to understand that people pleasing is going to exhaust you.

I was giving power to other people — they have been using it for my kindness and being nice. I came to a point where I committed myself — not anymore. I started speaking up for myself.

The best thing I did for myself was advocating for myself. The day I decided to stay true to who I am and stand firm on my grounds. That moment made me feel immensely powerful and liberated, as I no longer rely on others’ validation to define my self-worth.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Thank you so much for asking such an important question. While the topic isn’t easy, I appreciate your curiosity. I’ve personally known a few people who have struggled with their mental health and, tragically, some who have taken their own lives. It’s heartbreaking and makes me wonder what battles they were facing. I always remember them fondly and pray for their souls.

We all know that mental health plays a huge role in how we cope with life. I’ve faced my own challenges with depression for most of my life, and it wasn’t until my family noticed something was off that I really understood what I was going through.

That’s why I believe in reaching out to my family and trusted friends whenever I feel overwhelmed. I recently took a brave step and talked to a therapist—there’s truly no shame in seeking help from a professional.

Healing isn’t always easy—it’s a journey I’m still on. I’m working on becoming more empathetic and compassionate, both to myself and others.

My own healing includes medication, but also lifestyle changes like eating well, practicing meditation and yoga, taking walks, journaling, and practicing gratitude. I’ve also discovered the joy of engaging in creative hobbies like writing, dancing, and community service. I hope to learn dancing professionally someday—fingers crossed!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
This is such an interesting question! Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by many remarkable individuals who accept me unconditionally for who I am. Their unwavering support and genuine kindness serve as constant sources of inspiration, and I consider myself truly lucky to have them in my life.

These individuals are admired for their integrity, humility, empathy, and compassion. For instance, I work closely with a healthcare provider—a doctor—who once went out of her way to personally hire a nanny for a patient’s infant. The patient needed a blood transfusion due to a serious anemia condition and lacked family support to care for her baby during her hospital stay. The doctor even paid for the nanny’s services herself, demonstrating extraordinary kindness and dedication. Such acts of compassion are incredibly uplifting.

I often feel deeply grateful to be in the company of such authentic people—they remain true to themselves, consistently honest and caring in their interactions with me. Their sincerity is evident in every word and gesture.

Both in my personal life and professional career, these individuals are the bright spots—the silver linings—that bring positivity and meaning to my days.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I genuinely hope that people remember me for the way I treated them—with kindness, compassion, helpfulness, and empathy. I want them to recall how genuinely I cared for their well-being and how attentively I listened when they needed someone to hear them, offering support and understanding.

Most importantly, I want everyone to remember that, no matter what you achieve in this world, you should always prioritize kindness. Be a guiding light that illuminates the darkness, like a warm beacon of hope. Be a shining star that brightens even the darkest rooms, inspiring others to find their own light.

One more thing I hope people remember is to dream big and pursue those dreams passionately, because everyone deserves happiness and paradise. Never sell yourself short or settle for less than what you are worth.

Remember, you’ll encounter folks who might doubt you or try to shake your confidence. Don’t let their negativity get to you—stay focused and trust your instincts. Keep believing in yourself, no matter what others say.

Thank you so much, Vogue ATL, for the wonderful interview. I really enjoyed every moment of it!
