Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Scruggs.
Hi Corey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
“BigFaceSports was founded in 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. After attending a football game with my son, I noticed his team wasn’t getting the recognition they deserved. Meanwhile, a school in Columbus seemed to be getting all the attention. This sparked an idea – how could I help these kids with their recruiting? I came up with the name BigFaceSports and started a Twitter account, which surprisingly gained a lot of traction.
Our first success story was with our Vice President Andre’s son, who needed help with recruiting. I sent his highlights to college coaches on Twitter, and he started receiving offers. From there, I began working with other players, helping them with their recruiting process.
Today, BigFaceSports has a team of dedicated staff, including Co-CEO Marcus Gordon, and Vice President Andre “Speedy” Lacy. We’re proud to host several events, including:
– *3rd Annual UPNEXT Camp*: Every May
– *UPNEXT ALL AMERICAN Girls Flag Football Game*: Bringing together top female players from around the world to compete in Columbus
– *UPNEXT MIDDLE SCHOOL ALL AMERICAN GAME*: Showcasing top middle school talent
– *Upcoming Events*:
– *UPNEXT FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP*: May
– *UPNEXT HIGH SCHOOL GAME SCHEDULE*: December 2026
Our mission is to provide opportunities for young athletes to succeed, and we’re excited for what’s to come.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The path to success is rarely smooth, but staying focused on your vision is key. Persistence is crucial, especially when working to make a positive impact on young lives and diverting them from the challenges of street life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
