Meet Journee Johnson of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Journee Johnson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been drawn to growth, creativity, and self-expression, especially through movement and storytelling. While I built a career in healthcare and became a registered nurse an experience that taught me discipline and resilience. Dance was always something I kept close and personal.

After moving from Colorado to Atlanta, I signed up for my first official dance class at Dance 101 without realizing it would become such a defining moment. What started as one class quickly opened the door to deeper training, performance, and artistic growth, and Atlanta became the place where my passion for dance truly came alive!

Today, I’m fully immersed in my evolution as a dancer/artist and consistently training in Atlanta, including with Haus of London, while performing and collaborating with other artists who inspire me. I’m super proud of how far I’ve come and excited to continue growing while contributing to Atlanta’s creative community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Learning how to balance structure with creativity, knowing when to push myself and when to pause, and trusting myself through moments of uncertainty have all shaped my perspective and strengthened my commitment to the journey.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As an artist and creative, I am focused on growth, expression, and being intentional in everything I do. My work is rooted in presence, clarity, and storytelling through movement, allowing each performance to feel honest and fully embodied. Alongside dance, I began developing my acting career here in Atlanta as another way to explore storytelling and emotional depth.

What I’m most proud of is my commitment to evolving as both an artist and a person. From taking my first dance class in Atlanta to consistently training, performing, and stepping into acting, I am learning to trust my process and my voice. What sets me apart is my willingness to receive and apply corrections I genuinely want to grow and show up better with every opportunity. At the core of my work is a desire to be a vessel for God’s presence, moving and creating in alignment with who God created me to be, with intention and purpose.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is family and becoming who God created me to be. Family keeps me grounded and reminds me of who I am beyond my roles, while my faith guides how I move, create, and show up in the world. At the heart of it all is my personal belief in continuing to evolve, leading with love, and doing more of what aligns with purpose and joy.
