Conversations with Mona Glenn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mona Glenn.

Hi Mona, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Regal Seniors Resources after spending more than three decades caring for patients across almost every level of nursing—beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant and working my way through LPN, RN, MSN, and ultimately earning my DNP. I also served 3 years in the United States Army as a 16 Tango. Over the years, I worked in nursing homes, private care, hospitals, and in federal and military healthcare settings, and I kept seeing the same gap: seniors and families were overwhelmed, under-supported, and often trying to navigate complex health issues alone. I saw veterans having a tremendous time navigating the process of submitting their VA Claims. I knew there had to be a more personal, concierge nursing-style way to support the seniors and veterans—one that focused on dignity, education, advocacy, and peace of mind, not just “tasks” on a checklist. I now close those gaps with my concierge nursing services, easing patients, families, and veterans’ minds. I do it with pride, professionalism, and dignity.

My dad was a huge part of why I had the courage to actually turn my vision into a business. He has always been my rock—my motivator, advisor, and quiet cheerleader in the background. Any time I doubted myself, he reminded me of how far I’d already come and that I was more than capable of building something of my own. My daughter has been just as instrumental—she’s the reason I think so much about legacy. Watching her watch me pushed me to stop sitting on my dreams and to show her, by example, that you can create the life and career you want, even when it’s hard.

My faith in my God, Jehovah, and family as a whole has been the backbone of this journey. They’ve listened to ideas at all hours, prayed with me, celebrated every milestone, and stood by me through the long nights of building a business while still working and serving others. Regal Seniors Resources is not just a company I started—it’s the result of generations of support, love, and belief in me. That foundation is exactly why I’m so passionate about pouring that same level of support into the seniors, veterans, and families I serve today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Starting Regal Seniors Resources has been a blessing, but it has also come with a lot of growing pains. One of the biggest challenges has been doing everything from the ground up—building systems, creating services, educating the community about what concierge nursing and senior advocacy really are, and doing it all while still working and caring for others. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that people never see: the late nights, the financial sacrifices, the constant learning, and the moments where you wonder if all the effort is really making a difference.

One of the most difficult parts of this journey has been locating clients and companies that not only need my services but truly see the value and trust what my company provides. Many people are still unfamiliar with concierge nursing, and they may not immediately understand why having a nurse advocate, care coordinator, and senior placement specialist can be life-changing for their loved ones or their patients. It takes time to build trust, especially when you are asking families to let you into very personal parts of their lives and asking providers to partner in new ways.

There have been doors that stayed closed, referrals that didn’t come, and moments of discouragement. But those challenges have also pushed me to refine my message, strengthen my faith, and keep showing up. Every client who gives Regal Seniors Resources a chance, every senior who feels safer, every veteran who has been supported through my advocacy, and every family who feels more supported reminds me why I started—and why it’s worth continuing, even when the road isn’t smooth.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Regal Seniors Resources, my work is really the culmination of my entire nursing journey—from starting as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to becoming a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Every step of my education and career has been about one thing: learning how to provide excellent, compassionate, and thorough care for seniors and those who love them.

I specialize in concierge nursing and care coordination for seniors and veterans. That includes chronic care support (like medication management, hypertension and diabetes management, pain and wound care, and ongoing health monitoring), patient advocacy, and serving as a liaison between clients and their physicians. I also provide senior placement services at NO COST to the client, helping families find the right independent living, assisted living, or memory care community.

In addition, a big part of my work is helping veterans obtain their VA disability ratings by reviewing records, educating them on the process, and walking them step-by-step through what can be a very overwhelming system. As a veteran myself, I served in the United States Army as a Patriot Missile Crew Member. I launched missiles for several years and completed my enlistment. I then joined the National Guard and became a Small Wheel Mechanic. I understand how difficult it can be to complete the claims process. Henceforth, I also assist veterans in submitting their claims. I consider myself a Freedom Fighter Veteran Advocate. I empower veterans through education, guidance, and structured support as they navigate the VA disability claims submission process. I am committed to ensuring veterans understand their benefits, feel confident organizing their claim, and feel supported every step of the way- without confusion or intimidation. Rooted in integrity, respect, and service. My mission is to honor those who fought for our freedom by helping them advocate for themselves and access the benefits they have earned.

People know Regal Seniors Resources and me for highly personalized, one-on-one care and for truly “holding the family’s hand” through every stage of the journey. I don’t just show up for a task and leave—I educate, advocate, follow up, and make sure my clients feel heard, respected, and supported. Many clients tell me they finally feel like someone is on their side.

What I’m most proud of is the path I took to get here. I didn’t skip any steps. I started as a CNA, then became an LPN, then an RN, earned my bachelor’s, master’s, and DNP. That progression means I understand care from the bedside all the way up through leadership, systems, and advanced practice. I’ve worked in nursing homes, hospitals, federal and military healthcare, and case management. All of that experience allows me to see the whole picture and design care that actually works in real life—not just on paper.

What sets me apart from others is that Regal Seniors Resources is not a cookie-cutter agency. I combine deep clinical expertise with true concierge-level service. There are no insurance barriers dictating how I care for someone; I can focus on what that individual truly needs. I bring the heart of a bedside nurse, the mind of a DNP, and the eye of a case manager to every situation. I treat every client like family—because for me, this is personal. That combination of education, experience, and genuine compassion is at the core of everything I do through Regal Seniors Resources.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First and foremost my God, my Daddy and my daughter have been my frontline supporters. My dad has always been my rock—encouraging me, praying for me, and reminding me to keep going when things felt heavy. My daughter has been my daily motivation and my “why.” Knowing she’s watching me build this business pushes me to keep striving, to show her what’s possible with faith, hard work, and perseverance.

My mom Dr. R.W- Bradford has also played a huge role in shaping who I am. She paved the way for me by showing what it looks like to be a full-time mom and a dedicated hospitalist. Watching her balance motherhood and medicine taught me resilience, discipline, and compassion. She is my top mentor—her work ethic, intelligence, and strength have been a blueprint for my own journey.

I also have to acknowledge Mrs. J. Harvey, who taught me everything I know about case management and care coordination. She didn’t just teach me the technical side of the work—she supported me when times were challenging, encouraged me when I doubted myself, and consistently showed me love and guidance. She modeled how to navigate complex systems while still keeping the patient at the center.

Ms. Boddie poured into me as a leader. She taught me the strong leadership skills needed to be effective, confident, and fair—and she also taught me how to “dress for success,” to show up polished and professional in every room I enter. Her influence helped shape not only how I lead, but how I carry myself as a businesswoman and nurse leader.

All of these people—my Daddy, my daughter, my mom, Mrs. Harvey, and Ms. Boddie—have played an enormous role in my growth and in the success of Regal Seniors Resources. Their support, example, mentorship, and love are woven into everything I do and every client I serve.
