Today we’d like to introduce you to Blade Hudson.
Blade , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a multi-instrumentalist and music producer originally from the Mississippi Delta. My background is rooted in the blues, my grandfather was a Chicago musician jniwn as Little Addison affiliated with Chess Records and my great uncle Eddie Shaw was the bandleader for Howlin Wolf as his saxophonist. I moved to Atlanta, GA to explore a more versatile music scene and make my reputation as a Rock n Roll artist and personality.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been many challenges along my path but its always best to focus on how to improve and pushing social media. Certain struggles can arise such as limited budget to promote videos and marketing aspects of being an independent artist. Also certain audition process can be frustrating when things don’t go smoothly or when you think you’ve nailed it and don’t get the gig. Every situation is a chance for growth, having the right mindset will keep an artist going.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
By day I’m a music educator at a School of Rock located in Buford, GA. After hours I am a working musician often times picking up local gigs or answer calls to back local upcoming artists. Somedays I also go to studios and track parts as an instrumentalist. What sets me apart is being a Multi-instrumentalist and having a passion for music education. Becoming an instructor and bandleader has been a great learning experience in my life.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The lesson of showing up on time and showing a good attitude within a situation. How you present yourself and first impressions matter.
