Today we’d like to introduce you to Wayne Smith Jr..
Hi Wayne , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Yes of course. I started my journey in film doing background acting in 2014. I was an extra on this show called,” Game of silence”. My first day on set , even as a background actor I just fell in love with the ambiance and the work that goes into creating films/tv, from there I networked and kept getting myself booked on projects until I jumped to the Crew side of things in 2021. From there I worked as a Production Assistant and learned and grew in the craft. Was blessed with the opportunity to work with many greats who’ve taught me a lot and helped me navigate what lane I want to be in.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely has not been a smooth road but I believe with anything you want to do in life, for it to last a long time, the path will not be easy. I faced a lot of doubt , lack of support from loved ones stuck in old mentalities, and financially these days investing and believing in a dream you have can be hard. Life doesn’t stop and at times it makes it discouraging but I’m blessed to have God in my life and some good people in my corner that when things get hard or tough I can remember the ultimate vision and keep going. There’s nobody that’s became successful and sustained it without having a support system by them that they can depend on. So I’m grateful for that.
We’ve been impressed with My new Company is called,” CineMagiqueStudios.”, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a Media Entertainment Company , specializing in Short films, commercials, brand shoots , photography, and more. We also have a physical studios where we offer photography services, Demo Reel services , and more for influencers and creators. I’m most proud of locking in an actual location where we can call it and make it an actual hub for entertainment. The industry is tough and being able to create a space that’s safe and accessible for creators is something I’ve always wanted to do. Doors will be officially open in 2026.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck. Everything good or bad is just apart of the journey God has set me On. The bad things that happen are not losses they are lessons. The good things come through the faithfulness to your grind and dedication to be great. God is the reason I’ve made it this far and he’s the reason I will achieve all my goals because without him nothing is possible.
