Check Out Deavion Brown’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deavion Brown.

Hi Deavion, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been interested in fashion from a very young age, which led me to attend the High School of Fashion Industries, where I majored in business of fashion. That early exposure gave me a strong foundation and confirmed that fashion was the career path I wanted to pursue.

I went on to study corporate communications at the College of Staten Island, while also exploring graphic design and photography. Because style felt second nature to me, I wanted to build complementary skills like communication, visual storytelling, and branding. Ultimately, I decided to leave school to fully pursue my career.

I began freelancing across styling, operations, and production to gain hands-on experience and build relationships. During that time, I landed a role at Loewe as an Operations Expert, where I learned the inner workings of a luxury fashion house and how operational excellence supports the client experience.

While maintaining a 9–5, I also assistant styled, handling outreach, showroom pickups and returns, and on-set assisting for high-end clients. As I grew more confident, I began taking on my own projects, collaborating with creatives in my community purely for the love of art. Sharing that process online led to organic interest, and I began receiving inquiries for my styling services.

I went on to style commercial work for emerging brands like Mea Culpa, Daily Paper, and Hyacyn, and later styled DaniLeigh throughout New York Fashion Week. Continued referrals led to my first independent long-term client, R&B artist Summer Dennis, styling her for events, music videos, and press.

Currently, I’m focused on building my client book and expanding my portfolio. Ive recently worked with Zoe Spencer, FUJIFILM, Nike and many more. Since leaving Loewe, I’ve joined Thom Browne, where I’m deepening my expertise in tailoring and precision craftsmanship. This role allows me to combine my operational knowledge, styling skills, and creative vision with a technical understanding of garment construction, helping me refine my eye for detail and elevate the quality of my work for every client and project.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the main challenges I faced was pushing past self-doubt and the feeling that my work wasn’t being seen or valued. In the beginning, growth felt slow and uncertain, which forced me to trust my creative vision and remain consistent without immediate validation. Learning to release hesitation and fully stand behind my work allowed me to show up with confidence, share my creativity more openly, and continue progressing within the fashion industry.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My name is Deavion Brown. I’m a Bronx, New York native, and I work as a wardrobe stylist, designer, creative director, and producer. I specialize in all things creative and approach every project with energy, passion, and a dedication to craft.

When I style, I pull inspiration from the ’90s and 2000s, blending vintage pieces with modern looks to create something fresh yet timeless. I focus on tailoring every outfit to reflect the client’s personality and personal style, often taking unconventional concepts and making them feel effortless.

I’m known for my fashion sense and intuition, people trust my vision, even when they don’t know exactly what I’m about to create. What sets me apart is my energy and love for the craft; I would style every day even without being paid. I approach every shoot with the mindset that I’m styling someone like Beyoncé, aiming to make a lasting impression and help clients feel confident in ways they might not have imagined.

I’m most proud of my consistency. In a field that can feel oversaturated, I stand behind my work, knowing that my creativity, attention to detail, and authenticity make me and my work stand out. Taking the leap into this world of creativity and staying true to my vision is something I’m proud of every day.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is my friends, family, and community. They’ve shaped who I am and supported me every step of the way, even when they don’t fully see the vision or understand fashion. I’m also passionate about connecting people and creating opportunities—bridging gaps between creatives, sharing opportunities that help others grow, and supporting anyone pursuing their dreams. For me, lifting others as I climb is just as important as building my own career.
