Inspiring Conversations with Dr. O’nae Chatman of Chatman Consulting Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. O’nae Chatman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born to 14 year old parents in rural Mississippi in the 80’s. To be honest my story is one of perseverance and grit. This is why i tell people to never despise small beginnings. In the year 2000 I dropped out of college and started working in local factories. It never faioed that everyday someome would tell me i needed to do something more with my life. The message finally clicked in 2006. I woke up with a renewed mindset to change my life and start creating a legacy that no person in my family had ever achieved. My newfound path included reading 4 to 5 hours every night, investing in my professional development, and writing. As a result I took a leap and re-enrolled in school, this time getting my Bachelor’s Degree in 2009. I then enrolled in the Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta Georgia earning my Master’s of Christian Education degree in 2013. Culminating in acquiring my Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership in May of 2025. This journey was not easy, but it was necessary for my growth and development. I have authored over 30 books to date and have spoken nationwide and internationally in Canada.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I experienced many obstacles along the way, but I never gave up. There were times that I didn’t have money for school, didn’t have steady income, etc. However, my faith in God was my cornerstone. I am a firm believer that anyone can achieve greatness when they tap into their God-given ability.

As you know, we’re big fans of Chatman Consulting Group. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
