Today we’d like to introduce you to Zakiya Milhouse.
Zakiya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my journey about three years ago after realizing I wanted more for myself outside of motherhood. I became a mother young with children born in 2012, 2014, and 2019, and for a long time, that was the only role I knew. I loved being a mom, but I also knew that if I didn’t change something, my life would continue to look the same.
That realization pushed me to focus on who I was beyond that role and what I genuinely enjoyed. I leaned into content creation, which felt natural because creativity had always been part of my life. Growing up, my family and I were recording videos, doing skits, and putting on fashion shows long before content creation was mainstream.
What started as simply showing up authentically online grew into community, brand collaborations, and opportunities in acting, modeling, and entrepreneurship. I’m still building, but I’m proud of the decision to bet on myself and create a life that reflects both my creativity and growth.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road honestly, it’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. One of the biggest challenges was learning how to believe in myself while building something from scratch and taking risks, all while juggling motherhood and real-life responsibilities. I didn’t always have clarity, resources, or a roadmap just the decision to keep showing up even when progress felt slow.
There were moments of self-doubt and financial uncertainty, but I’ve always believed that I’m unstoppable. Those challenges forced me to become more disciplined, confident, and intentional with my time and my voice.
Looking back, the struggles shaped me. They taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of trusting my instincts lessons that continue to guide me as I grow.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a content creator, actress, model, and entrepreneur who specializes in storytelling that feels real, relatable, and engaging. I’m best known for my skits, lifestyle content, and ability to connect with people through humor, honesty, and everyday experiences. My work often reflects real-life moments — especially from a woman’s and mother’s perspective in a way that feels authentic rather than curated.
I’m most proud of building a genuine community from simply being myself. I’ve been able to turn creativity into income through brand collaborations, acting opportunities, and partnerships, while staying true to my voice and values. Creating something sustainable out of something I love has been incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is my consistency and authenticity. I don’t try to fit into trends or create content that isn’t aligned with who I am. I show up as my full self, and that honesty resonates with people. I also understand how to blend creativity with strategy, which allows me to create content that connects emotionally while still delivering real value for brands and collaborators.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’ve been fortunate to have a great support in different ways throughout my journey. my children motivate me daily they’re the reason I push myself to grow and create something meaningful. I’ve also had friends, family, and supporters who believed in me early on, encouraged me to keep going, and reminded me of my potential during moments of doubt.
