Rising Stars: Meet Palmer Alexander III of Saint Louis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Palmer Alexander III.

Hi Palmer, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve worked in media since 2003, starting in St. Louis covering the Rams and Blues for the St. Louis American and later moving into radio and podcasting. NTZ Atlanta launched in 2022 while my youngest daughter was attending Collins View, allowing me to experience the city beyond work. The content stayed light—food spots, neighborhoods, and even joking about Atlanta traffic for the many St. Louis transplants living there. Atlanta felt authentic, lived-in, and culturally aligned with what NTZ represents

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road wasn’t smooth, but it was purposeful. I truly believe my career is a reflection of God’s work in my life. Surviving a stroke, pushing through rehab, and continuing to build isn’t something I take credit for alone—God deserves the glory. I’m just committed to honoring that by staying disciplined, honest, and faithful to the work.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I tell stories that are real, unfiltered, and rooted in life experience. From building NTZ Network while working blue-collar jobs to innovating in podcasting—making guests feel valued and heard—I focus on amplifying voices that often go unseen, like Shaina Weil of Minorities in Sports and Cecelia Towns Tyree of the Atlanta Gladiathers. After surviving a stroke in 2024 and pushing through rehab just to be at my daughter’s graduation, I know the journey isn’t easy, but with faith and perseverance, anything is possible.

What are your plans for the future?
NTZ Network is looking forward to participating at NABJ this August, where we hope to connect with journalists, creators, and industry leaders to strengthen partnerships and elevate Black voices. This opportunity aligns perfectly with our mission of amplifying stories that are authentic, community-driven, and impactful. Through this and future initiatives, we aim to show that faith, hard work, and perseverance can transform challenges into lasting growth.
