Christopher Slap, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Christopher Slap Davis an actor known for my roles in films like The Pickup (2025) with Eddie Murphy, No Honor Loyalty or Love (2024) with Lil Boosie, Tears of A Hustler 3 (2025), Tyler Perry’s Beauty In Black (2025), & Memoir Of a Gemini (2026). The “Slap” nickname also identifies me as a rapper from Birmingham, Alabama, associated with the Moniker Somethin’ Like A Playa (SLAP). I started his career as a very talented, CLEAN, neo-soul style lyricist. I’m an International Artist who has performed over 600 shows in the United States, blessed the stage in Nassau, Bahamas; Manchester, London; Cozumel, Mexico; & Quebec, Canada as well! I transition from an artist to an actor around summer of 2019. Now known for roles in independent films, TV shows and movies, with several projects listed from 2021-2026, and I will continue to elevate my position in the industry. Giving back to my community is very important to me; much expected from a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. SLAP the Actor, I wants to keep God first, work hard and be a true role model and inspiration to all!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all! Music was a rocky road, some ups and downs. The money didn’t add up to the small accolades I did have. Film was not easy either. 2020 I got slowed down due to covid. 2023 I got slowed down due to the writers strike but, I kept going hard, finding alternatives.

Also he has performed and/or opened for major Hip-Hop/Rap artists like Rick Ross (Maybach Music Group), Young Dro (Grand Hustle), 2 Chainz (G.O.O.D Music), Travis Porter (RCA), Shawty-Lo (D4L/Asylum Records), Gorilla Zoe (Block Ent/Bad Boy), Yelawolf (Shady/Interscope), Ace Hood (Def Jam), and Young Jeezy (CTE/Def Jam).
