Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Gaskins.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
LORE Co. was born out of necessity, curiosity, and years of quietly being “the person who makes things work.”
I’ve been supporting businesses behind the scenes for nearly a decade, long before I officially named it. I naturally became the go-to for organizing systems, managing projects, customer service, cleaning up workflows, and filling in gaps wherever they showed up. Over time, I realized that what I was doing wasn’t just task support, it was operational strategy, structure, and care.
In 2024, I formally launched LORE to reflect the depth of that work. I wanted to create a business that honored both the logistics and the human side of entrepreneurship. LORE is rooted in the belief that businesses don’t just need more tools, they need clarity and support that feels collaborative rather than transactional.
Today, LORE serves as a digital sidekick and operations partner for founders, creatives, and small teams who are building meaningful work but feel stretched thin. I step in where needed whether that’s project management, backend setup, process building, or simply helping untangle the things that have been sitting on the back burner.
My path hasn’t been linear, but it’s been intentional. Every role, project, and pivot has shaped how I work now: with empathy, efficiency, and a deep respect for the realities of running a business. LORE exists to make things feel lighter, clearer, and more sustainable so founders can focus on what they do best, knowing the rest is handled with care.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been shifting from being available to being intentional with boundaries, processes, and clear scope. When you’ve spent years being “the helper” or working behind the scenes, it can take time to fully own the value of what you bring and charge accordingly.
Another struggle has been balancing life and business. I found out I was pregnant not too long after starting it. My pregnancies are never easy so that was something in itself. Building a service-based business while navigating real life meant learning how to pace myself and design my work in a way that’s sustainable for everyone involved.
Those challenges ultimately shaped the business to be grounded, flexible, and built with care. They reinforced why LORE Co. exists in the first place: to create structure without rigidity, support without burnout, and systems that actually work for real people and not just ideal scenarios.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about LORE Co.?
LORE was inspired by the simple belief that business owners shouldn’t have to do everything alone. After years of supporting friends and entrepreneurs behind the scenes, I built LORE as a space where founders can finally get the administrative support, digital structure, and operational clarity they’ve been craving.
At its core, LORE provides dependable admin support that helps businesses run day to day. That includes inbox and calendar management, client communication, scheduling, document and file organization, form creation, CRM upkeep, invoicing support, and general backend assistance. I’m known for being the person clients can trust to handle the details consistently, carefully, and with an understanding of their bigger picture.
What sets LORE apart is how personal and collaborative the support is. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions or rigid systems. I take the time to understand each client’s vision, workflow, and season of life so the support actually feels helpful and not overwhelming. While the work is admin-led, there’s a strong operational mindset behind it, which naturally creates more clarity, smoother processes, and less stress over time.
When business owners have someone they trust, understands their vision, & can truly take things off their plate, they get to grow, breathe, & actually enjoy the business they created. That’s what I aim to provide through every service and every client relationship.
I’m also proud that LORE embraces alternative business models, including bartering. I believe value doesn’t always have to move through traditional currency to be meaningful. Bartering allows for mutual support, accessibility, and creative collaboration, especially within community-based and Black-owned businesses, while still honoring the time and labor involved.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that LORE feels steady, human, and trustworthy. I want readers to know that LORE isn’t just about getting tasks done, it’s about creating support systems that allow founders to move with more ease, confidence, and sustainability.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t think luck has played a major role in my life or business. What’s shaped my journey more than anything has been consistency, relationships, and being willing to show up even when things weren’t clear or easy.
Every opportunity I’ve had came from building trust over time, doing good work, being reliable, and staying open to learning. If anything, my story is about intentional growth. I’ve built LORE through word-of-mouth, community, and steady support, not shortcuts. That process has reinforced my belief that sustainability comes from structure, not chance, and that long-term success is created through care, clarity, and commitment.
