Meet Diana Alford of Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Alford.

Hi Diana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my photography journey when my daughters were born. I’m completely self-taught, and over the years I’ve learned so much through practice, trial and error, and experience. It’s been a process of growing both creatively and professionally, and that journey is what’s brought me to where I am today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. It’s been a lot of learning as I go, making mistakes, and growing from them. Creating has always been my passion—I love making art and telling stories through my work. The business side hasn’t come as naturally to me, and that’s where I’ve struggled the most. But over time, I’ve learned that those challenges are part of the process, and they’ve helped me grow both as an artist and as a business owner.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer based in Atlanta, originally from Mexico City, and I specialize in family, portrait, dance, and fine art photography. My focus is on creating work that goes beyond images—it becomes art for your home. I love capturing both candid, in-between moments and thoughtfully posed portraits, creating pieces that clients live with, see every day, and eventually pass down.
I’m known for my colorful, emotional style and for taking the time to make each session feel personal and intentional. I guide clients through the whole process—from planning the session to helping select artwork and albums—so the final pieces truly reflect their story and belong in their homes.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships I build with my clients. Many come back year after year, and some become friends. I think what sets me apart is that I care as much about the experience and the art I create as I do about the images themselves. Whether it’s a family session, a dancer in motion, or a fine art project, I aim to turn everyday moments into meaningful, lasting art.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is bringing an idea to life and seeing it come through in the final photo—when it reflects real emotion and speaks to me, I feel like I’ve done something meaningful. Equally important are the relationships I build with my clients. I want the experience to be easy, enjoyable, and friendly, so we can create something together that feels personal and authentic.
